Great STEM Robot Build Kit!
If you know a kid who loves Legos, robots, and engineering, then this is a kit you must look at. Our 10 year old loved putting this robot together with me. His younger brother (age 6) tried to help but it was a bit more complicated and slower progress than he was hoping for, so he jumped in and out while the 10 year old and I built the robot. We built this guy a little at a time after school for a few days, not sure exactly how long it took for the full build, but it wasn’t a quick after dinner kind of thing.The boys loved that we had to also build the remote control, and that the robot changes expression as his head turns. He’s easy to control with the remote and works well running around on his treads. I’m so glad he has treads instead of tires, especially for our house. I do wish we could control his arms with the remote, but that’s okay that we can’t. The boys have had fun adding accessories and things for the robot to drive around the house holding. At one point we had something that looked like a broom for the robot to “clean” while he was moving.
