When it comes to mixing, honesty is the key. You don’t want studio monitors that sound great all the time because once you take that mix into your car or home stereo it will sound completely different. In the same vein if your monitors are made to emphasize bass response, your mix will end up with a thin low end elsewhere. Accuracy is crucial, and the Yamaha HS7s continue in the tradition of the industry respected NS-10s, the best / worst sounding monitors (worst because you’ll hear the good AND bad in your mix!).
The 2-way bass reflex bi-amplification is what makes most electric and sonic sense. Bi-amplification means that separate power amplifiers are used to drive the low-mid and high frequency speaker units, which eliminates any phase anomalies and lets both speakers perform at optimum levels. This in turn gives you the transparency and clarity you desire for your mix.
The drivers used in the HS series monitors deliver superb audio performance that is enhanced by a sophisticated mounting system. A mathematical arrangement of screws and a specially designed mounting ring eliminates unwanted vibration and resonance, which lets the speaker realize its full sonic potential, without distortion or coloration. Another great feature that you will hear but won’t see are the extra-large magnets. Used with a state of the art circuit design these magnets provide powerful, yet tightly controlled flux field that gives you an especially smooth response and dynamics over a wider range of frequencies.

These monitors sound great! It’s easy to get wrapped up in the details of a frequency response graph when buying. But in general, they are well made and sound clear when I’m using them for mixing in Logic Pro. The bass isn’t bad either. I could see needing the Subwoofer if you’re mixing tracks with extra low frequency bass. But I think this pair will be more than enough for most users. Especially in a small room.

Clear, pristine, very good audio image. Seven of these and a Wharfdale Diamond SW250 subwoofer would make an epic surround system.I use it with an Asus Xonar Essence one (with DSD upgrade kit, and Asus Xonar U7 as coaxial S/PDIF Preprocessor for intelligent equalizer) with JRiver 26, Tidal HiFi and Amazon Music unlimited HD. 24/96 flac and DSD sounds amazing.As good as PMC at a quarter of the cost.Wouldn’t sound bad with Audiobyte Blackdragon or Burson conductor.

Casse assolutamente di qualità, ero un po’ scettico perché ho uno studio molto grande e pensavo di aver bisogno anche di un sub, ma dopo averle provate, ho capito che non è indispensabile, anzi! Oltre alle casse la spedizione è stata ottima, all’ ordine la spedizione era prevista per 2 o 3 giorni, invece le stavo già provando a meno di 24 ore dal’ acquisto, perfetto amazon e discopiù!

J’ai des M-audio niveau puissance les m audio sont meilleurs mais niveau qualité de son là on est vraiment dans le son des mélomanes c’est dire une qualité incroyable, cristallin etc… bref je suis très content de mon achat.

The minute I turned these on my video edits sounded pin sharp. More importantly I could hear any issues in fading or small effects super clear.Since I’ve had these speakers I’ve taken much more notice with my video edits and people really have noticed. Very clear and concise sound with no forgiveness- just what I needed!
