Great product for the price install was fairly easy and instructions give you the details to tweak all the settings to your unit I recommend getting a cheap outdoor thermometer to adjust the thermostat temp because mine was off but it has setting to change it to correct you just need something to go off of and the app isn’t the best but other than that I love it looks good works great no complaints for the price

Thermostat works great for me
I bought this Tuya thermostat to replace my Honeywell because I did not want to depend on a cloud service anymore just to set my thermostat from my iPhone. I have a standard home H/C system with the following five connections:RH, C – 24VACW – Heating On/OffY- Cooling On/OffG – Fan On/OffThe unit defaults to this “HC1” configuration which is shown on manual page 35. The jumper switch was also already set to the RH/RC position (24VAC to both). I ignored the “S” connection as that is only used if you have an external temperature sensor.My Smart Life app found the thermostat device immediately. I think the app user interface for creating a schedule is efficient and intuitive. Programming the other parameters from the touch panel was straightforward so I turned the backlight on permanently as I like that feature. I only needed to calibrate the temperature reading by +1 degree, and so far the unit has been holding the room to the set temperature despite what other reviewers have experienced.

If you don’t have experience setting up your thermostat it’s difficult to get it going I had to hire professional help

New unit disabled itself.
It’s been 1-2 weeks since installing, and last night, I discovered the unit said “System OFF” or something like that, and it was occasionally flashing blue. The “System” switch was set to Heat, not OFF. I had to toggle the “System” switch OFF and then back to Heat, 2 times, before it would go back into “Heat” mode. I don’t see anything in the manual that describes this behavior. Has anyone else seen something like this. The furnace is about 3 years old and is controlled by just 2 wires, so we’re using batteries (they are new).Edit (about 6 weeks of ownership with little use up until now): tonight, the unit started making clicking noises and lighting blue briefly. It seemed to be cycling heat on and off rather quickly (30 seconds?). This obviously sounds bad for my furnace, so I got the manual and changed it from FA heating to SL heating. But when I tried to get out of the configuration menu by sliding the System switch back to Heat…the display did not register that I moved the switch. It continued to say “Off”. I tried the “Cool” position and the display responded to that (though we have nothing connected to the cooling wires). I switched back to Off and the display shows Off. But everytime I try to use “Heat” the display does not respond. I tried the reset button twice. I tested the batteries…fully charged. I tried removing the batteries, twice…nothing works. This thing is now dead after 6 weeks of light use. Dropping rating to 1 star.

This thermostat was easy to install and set up. I purchased this thermostat to replace one that runs only on battery like many that are available today. That was important to me as we are away for several months in the winter and did not want to rely on a thermostat that would quit working if a battery failed. This one has battery backup but runs primarily on the 24volt supply from my furnace. I also like the fact that you can calibrate the thermostat by adjusting the displayed temperature up or down by 4 degrees to get an accurate reading.

Purchased this to replace my eco saver digital programmable thermostat? Sure glad I came across this unit, as often woke up in middle of -30 temps. and my eco. saver thermostat reduced temp. to 16 C. ?? This unit keeps house warm day and nice ! No more having to go from 16C to 21 and waiting for furnace to recover heat for 45 minutes !~ Digital, non programmable, but still best!

The manual is really hard to read. guess it was translated from the machine. I have to use the backup white wire instead of regular yellow to pop up my heat pump.

We didn’t want a programmable thermostat but wanted something a bit more modern than the regular slide ones that you get at Home Depot. Looks great, works great and was a great buy! For the same money as the manual thermostats you get a really nice, electronic one with basic functions. Love it!
