Perfect. Performs exactly as described
I initially ordered two programmable thermostats. One turned out to be for baseboard heaters (do they still exist?) and the other one’s programming was impossibly complex and poorly documented, so both orders were canceled/returned. As I’m retired and live in a Mediterranean climate, I wouldn’t benefit from complex settings anyway (time of day, weekends, etc), so I decided to keep life simple and bought this. It was easy to install and works perfectly. It even has limited setting adjustments – room temperature calibration, setpoint and hysteresis (temperature difference between on and off).Update: If I could give this 6 stars, I would. The display is perfect. It shows you exactly what you need, with no unnecessary clutter. it illuminates if you touch one of the up or down buttons, otherwise it saves the battery by not being lit up.

Great value& Easy to follow instructions
Perfect for folks like me. Too poor to hire an electrician to replace a thermostat. The directions are easy to follow. There are stickers to put on the wires as you disconnect them(VERY USEFUL!) I bought the green because ‘blue light is bad at night’. Mine is battery operated, but can’t use rechargeable batteries. (My ONLY complaint) Works JUST FINE with my 25 year old furnace. Batteries have lasted for 4 months so far because the screen is not backlit unless you press a button( which will change the temp you want, just change it back when you’re done) I was scared to try to install a new thermostat on my own. This made it easy! Cold weather is here and I am warm. TG

Must have for an old house!
This thermostat is a must if you live in an old, drafty house. Here is my experience: I have a gas furnace in my 120-year-old house that used to be controlled by an old-school thermostat where you could only adjust the desired temperature, and that was it. The heat used to kick in very often (over 10 times an hour) since the house is drafty, thanks to single-pane glass everywhere and barely any insulation. Installation of this thermostat was a breeze and took less than 10 minutes. The best feature is the “swing” adjustment. It allows me to set the temperature to 66°F with a 2°F swing, which means it kicks in once the temperature reaches or drops below 66°F, heats the house up to 68°F, and then does not kick in again until the house cools back down to 66°F, preventing short cycling. I monitor the on/off cycles of the fan through a smart breaker and track gas usage by keeping an eye on the meter. According to the data, I am using less gas and electricity while keeping the house 2 degrees warmer, which is incredible. I highly recommend it.

Make sure you get batteries
Ok first I probably should of read that it doesn’t come with batteries so make sure you get AAA batteries. The batteries do not fit tightly which is why it is only a 4 star review. It is easy to install and only took me 15min, take pictures of where your wires go or use the labels that are included. Works great for the 2 wire system that’s in older houses like mine.

Nice, accurate, very adaptable, easy to install thermostat.
This seems to be a nice, easy to operate, accurate, adaptable thermostat. The installation and wiring were a breeze and the screw holes in the base of the thermostat lined up perfectly with my old Carrier thermostat holes, so no drilling for me. Just some touch up paint since this thermostat is slightly smaller than my old one. I’ve added some scans of the installation manual showing the wiring schemes and the procedures for adjusting the differential and calibrating the temperature reading. Out of the box, the heating differential is 0.4 deg F and cooling differential is deg 0.5 F. To clarify, this means the heat when set to 65 deg F, for example, it will turn on when the temp drops to 59.6 deg F and turn off when the temp rises to 65.4 deg F. You can set the differential as low as 0.2 deg F and as high as 2 deg F. The calibration of the unit, out of the box, was spot on to my traceable thermometer, so no adjustment needed there, but it is easily done. It is important to note, that in order to preserve batteries, you really need to connect the common (if available) from the 24VAC transformer to C terminal on the thermostat. Otherwise, the thermostat and its internal circuitry (it has at least one internal relay for example) will be powered by the batteries only, 24/7. The batteries probably won’t last very long operating in this configuration.Additionally, don’t forget to set the GAS/ELEC fan mode switch on the back of the thermostat before snapping the thermostat into place on the base during installation. In the GAS mode, the thermostat will not independently turn on the blower fan when the demand for heat signal is sent. In the ELEC mode the thermostat will turn on the fan (via green wire) at the same time the heat demand signal is sent. The default, out of the box, position of this switch is GAS.

Simple straight forward
Simple thermostat, no complicated setup. Just turn it on and adjust the temperature works reliably and is super straightforward.

Easy install and works well. The display does not light up so kind of hard to see especially at night.
