Quality machine
I’ve waited purposefully to review this printer by Longer (lk5 pro). After nearly 300 build hours on it and tons of learning curves I can say it definitely has no issues printing. I’ve printed PLA, PETG, ABS and even the notorious TPU filaments through this and though there is some trial and error involved I can say it’s solid.Its stable heat range seems to max at about 250c with the bed able to stay stable at 90c after that it has problems and fails. I am unsure if putting an all metal extruder on with allow it to get hotter for those exotic filaments but as of now I have no need to check that. The build plate is pretty large too at 300D300W400H allowing those bigger and taller prints to fit.It comes pretty much together with just a little bit of build work involved by fairly simple, the hot bed plate is also fairly nice and seems to do a good job although I’d recommend the first print you do, be a scraper as the metal scraper provided can easily dig and gouge the plate if you’re not careful. It does seem to leave a bit of ghosting residue but most of the time a good wipe with 91% propylene alcohol does the trick. (Pro tip keep you bed warm when you do this)Now for the cons, the bed leveling is rough which is normal on most printers. Manually turning the nobs is barbaric in my opinion and with a machine that is a make it or break situation, literally. Prints turn bad if you’re off .2mm sometimes depending on the detail even .1 makes a huge difference and to rely on a piece of paper and my own judgement is crazy in this day and age. Luckily you can buy a autolevel sensor called a BLTouch. However be warned the information on this is very difficult to navigate. You will need firmware from longer which you request via emailing them. Then you will need pronterface software to both enable and calibrate the leveler to your machine. That’s after you become an electrician and wire the sensor into your main board which can brick the printer if you are careful and ground the sensor incorrectly. And there is a dozen main board designs so you have to be careful not to read the wrong schematic as well.I will say the customer service is top of the line though, and helped me through all of my troubles so don’t turn away or get frustrated if something doesn’t go how you wanted it too. They will help you along the way and are very friendly in doing so.In closing it’s a great beginner printer at a good cost point and is highly upgradable as well, for the price you’re getting such a good. Buy an enclosure for it!!! I cannot stress it enough these plastics thrive in them and it makes such a better quality print.Hope all this helps and have fun!

Would not recommend this printer to anyone
This printer looks and feels like it should only be used in 2015, as many others have pointed out, the machines sometimes detects no filament and will auto stop the print. They include a replacement filament detector but the one provided broke a week into use. Then the Bowden tube got clogged after fixing the filament issue. It’s too much of a hassle for the price.

The Longer LK5 Pro 3D Printer has been an incredible addition to my workspace. As someone relatively new to 3D printing, I wanted something that was easy to assemble, reliable, and capable of larger prints—and this machine has exceeded my expectations on all fronts.First, the design is very solid and thoughtful. The triangle frame structure gives the printer excellent stability, even when printing tall models, and helps reduce vibration during long prints. The build volume of 11.8″ x 11.8″ x 15.7″ is perfect for cosplay parts, functional prototypes, or large decorative items. The print quality is truly impressive, especially considering the priceOne of the things I really appreciate is how easy bed leveling is on this printer. The manual knobs are large and smooth to turn, and the bed stays level for many prints once dialed in properly. Paired with a good slicer profile, it consistently lays down perfect first layers.Speaking of the first layer—bed adhesion is fantastic right out of the box. I haven’t had any serious warping or failed prints. The print surface grips PLA really well, and models pop off easily once cooled. I haven’t even needed additional adhesives or tapes.The TMC2209 silent stepper drivers make the machine extremely quiet, which is a big plus for anyone working in a shared or home environment. And with resume printing, I no longer worry about power outages ruining a long job.Overall, the LK5 Pro is a well-designed, feature-packed 3D printer that’s great for both beginners and experienced users. It delivers excellent value for money, and the open-source motherboard means it’s ready for upgrades whenever I am. Highly recommended!
