both my monitors blew the same capacitor after only around a year
these things sound amazing and i have zero complaints about the audio and how these perform in that regard.every single sound while listening to music on these is clear and distinct and nothing sound like it gets muddy or kinda compressed/blended together like they did on my last twin speaker 2.5 sub combo kit that i got for free from some friend that had them lying around for who knows how long. I’m no audiophile or really someone who knows tech that well but the difference in sound is undeniable.aside from small things like needing to replug it in sometimes bc my pc stops playing sound out of it or makes it so like only sound that comes out is wrong and distorted and crackly like a fireplace.my main issue with these speakers is that BOTH of them had the SAME capacitor blow out about ONE YEAR into owning them. when this capacitor blows it makes the display on the back flicker when attempting to power it on and it just wont power on.i could see why this would be a huge reason not to get them bc who wants to send them back after a year to get repair or crack it open and repair it yourself.i would obviously give these 5 stars if i didn’t have to solder a pair of capacitors on to my pair of monitors but i did have to do that bc this problem is apparently that common, the second one blew out a month after the first and im glad i made the decision to repair it myself rather than trying to get in touch with support for a long repair process that is mostly slowed down by shipping. i got a cheap soldering iron for like 15 bones off amazon and a pack of capacitors at the same spec for like 9 bones that arrived the next day and likely saved me around 2 months of support assistance in the repair. i fully expect these capacitor to blow out in a year. i don’t plan on changing how i use them to baby them, i keep my computer and theses monitors powered on almost 24/7 for context, which is likely why these blow but regardless they shouldn’t be doing that to begin with.the capacitor in question is the one that looks tilted, and rounded at the top, installed around that black bit that bridges those pins connecting the two boards together. this is a really easy repair to do yourself once you can identify the issue.

i bought a pair of these a while ago and forgot to write a review on them.I had to ask for a replacement for one of them that appear to have some manufacturing defects. the whole returning and getting the replacement was smooth and quick. I have no idea of the exact time i have had these monitors but they are still running and operating accordinglyi couldn’t be happier.the whole return and replacing is amazing and definitely gives me confidence to keep buying products like these from amazon
