Keychron C1 Pro RGB Backlight – Hot-swappable Version
The C1 Pro is a wired mechanical keyboard with a classic TKL (80%) layout and many premium features like QMK/VIA support, PBT keycaps, a 1000 Hz polling rate, included keycaps for both Windows and macOS, etc., and users can hot-swap with any MX mechanical switch in a breeze.

Program C1 Pro with QMK & VIA
With full QMK and VIA support, you can easily program and remap each key on the keyboard. The open-source firmware means endless possibilities for keyboard layouts, shortcuts, backlight effects, and more.
A powerful ultra-low-power ARM architecture MCU equipped with 128K Flash will provide more flexibility for developers. The polling rate is 1000 Hz right out of the box, which makes the latency hardly noticeable even in competitive games.
The C1 Pro has a system toggle and additional customized keycaps for Windows and macOS systems. And you can even configure different keymaps for Mac and Windows devices, while VIA software is compatible with macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Hot-swappable (5 pin & 3 pin)
The hot-swappable sockets are mounted on the PCB, so you can install or change the switches without soldering (for hot-swappable version only). The PCB supports both 3-pin and 5-pin MX mechanical switches.

South-facing RGB LED Backlight
The south-facing RGB LED designs to better illuminate the keyboard backlight from the typist’s angle with the premium non-shine-through PBT keycaps installed. The backlight is also free from interference when the users install Cherry-profile alternative keycaps on the keyboard. Also, it comes with 22+ types of RGB light in different styles (flashing, breathing, static red, etc.) to match your mood.

Good but not great.
I got this to replace an old mac slim keyboard that was failing. It has pros and cons depending on your preference and use.Pros:It has quite a few lighting features (colors and patterns) and you can even adjust the brightness. It has mechanical buttons that definitely give you that tactile feel as opposed to others that are very flat. The packaging is excellent, and the keyboard is very well protected in the box – thoroughly surrounded by padding. The keyboard can be customized for Mac or PC use, which is great for a Mac user like me. There are extra key covers for windows and apple keys, and a switch on the back to select Mac or PC use.The USB cord is about 5.5 feet long which should be enough for most users. You can customize the keyboard and apparently several other settings. It comes with a quick start card and an instruction booklet.Cons:The layer under the keys lights up, but the symbols on the keys don’t (which is stated in the product description). In a darker room, the backlighting doesn’t help you identify the keys. There is no USB port on the keyboard, so if you use a wireless mouse like me, you need to find a different port to plug in the mouse receiver. There is no number keypad on this keyboard. I don’t use it much, so not a big deal for me.The keyboard is thick and has a higher profile than my previous flat keyboard, so I am having to adjust to it.It is noisy. The keys have a definite click. My wife can hear me clicking away from the other side of the house, whereas my previous keyboard was almost silent. The button on the back of the keyboard to switch from Mac to PC is very small and impossible to read without a magnifying glass. For what it is, it seems expensive (about $80 at the time of writing this). I guess you are paying for the lighting features, customizing options, and the very elegant packaging it comes in.I searched high and low and could not find a silicone cover that would work with this keyboard. Without a cover, I worry that this keyboard will collect grime between and under the keys or could get something spilled on it. (I would have preferred simpler packaging and a clear silicone skin instead.)It is wired (as stated in the product description), so you are tethered to your computer by a 5.5 foot cord if that matters. Conclusion – fine for me, but in my mind, expensive for what it is. It seems well made, and I like the light effects. I’m still adjusting to the change in height and angle. The clicky noise is a bit bothersome. I hoped the symbols on the keys would light up so it could be used in a darker room, but I didn’t catch in the description that they don’t. I would have liked a silicone skin included for this price or at least one made available by the manufacturer. My overall rating for normal home use – 4 stars. Good but not great. If you really want a highly customizable keyboard, this might be just the thing for you.(Full disclosure – I received this item as an Amazon Vine reviewer, but my review is 100% honest, objective, and based on actual use of the item.)

Great mechanical keyboard with extra parts to keep you going.
This is a very nice Mechanical Keyboard that gives both performance as well as having a number of extra’s that really add value. With a 1000 Hz polling rate, the performance is well above electronic keyboards. The ability to remap keys is fantastic as well and having hot swap keys makes it easy to switch between Mac and PC and Linux. This is truly a highly customizable keyboard with both QMK and VIA support to easily remap or program any key on the keyboard. This keyboard also has a ton of custom lighting effects from colors to backlight which makes it great for gamers with custom lighting setups. The keyboard itself seems high quality and while you can hear the key clicks (as you should with a mechanical keyboard) they are not overly loud. With the extra keys swithes as well as a switch puller and keycap puller, this is a lot of good accessories giving good value.

Solid Mechanical Keyboard With a Quiet, Refined Feel
The typing experience is smooth and consistent, with keys that feel responsive without being loud or distracting. The compact layout saves desk space while keeping all the essentials, and the build feels sturdy enough for daily use. The backlighting is customizable but not gimmicky, and the keyboard works equally well for work or longer typing sessions. A good option if you want mechanical feel without excess noise.

I don’t love the feel of the red switches
I found it hard to type on this keyboard because the red mechanical keys are a bit software than I prefer. I usually use Keychron brown switches and here is what I observed as a difference:The red switches are a little easier to press (which is “too easy” in my case). The red switches are far quieter (the brown switches clickety clack really loud! But also I found this keyboard layout just a little cramped for my wide shoulders and big hands. I use the Q10 as my daily keyboard and will stick to that, using this for when I need a light throw-down keyboard when traveling. The functionality is quite rich, as with all Keychron’s I’ve used. You navigate to a page on the chrome web browser which lets you then configure the keyboard. It’s strange that it works that way, but it does. From there you can define macros, remap keys, upgrade firmware, and most fun of all: play around with the tons of LED effects. While each key is individually lit by a full color LED, the effect is muted overall because the keys are not transparent. I am not sure why Keychron does it this way other than to force you to pay for clear keys that let the LED shine through. But there is enough color that leaks around the edge of the keys to help you see it in the dark. The reason I’m giving this 5-stars despite my complaints about it being too small for me and the feel of the red switches is because that is entirely subjective. This is a very high quality keyboard and if it feels right to you, you’ll love it.
