Finally found it!
After hours of research and an embarrassing number of returns, this is the hub I’m keeping. I was on the hunt for what I thought was simple, an adapter with HDMI, 2 USB-C data ports, and at least one legacy USB port. To my amazement, most adapters take an “everything but the kitchen sink” approach and add an insane amount of ports making the hub huge. And to top it off, they almost all only have 1 USB-C port capable of data if at any. I also ran into lots of issue with the quality of the HDMI on other hubs. This hub checks all the boxes. It’s incredibly small, the HDMI supports full 4K 60hz HDR, and all 3 USB ports support super high speed data. The USB-C ports also fully support audio passthrough, so I can use wired headphones with a USB-C dongle! I tested everything on both my M2 MacBook Air and my iPhone 15 Pro and all features work perfectly on both. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for!

Uses it every day, never had an issue.
I actually have this velcro’d to the back of my monitor so when I use my laptop in my home office, I just plug in the one cable and everything is attached. I have every single port used and have not had any performance issues. I peed to pick one up for the laptop bag just in case when traveling.

best in its category
An excellent modern multiport adapter, I think it’s the best in the mobile category. Thunderbolt hubs that require a power supply and aren’t mobile are better.

A capable bus powered USB4 hub that works well with my MacBook Pro
I had a different hub which worked for most things but some things simply did not power on. This one has fast USBA, USBC and SD which all work well for me. Its compact and easily fits in my computer bag pouch. I would give it 5 stars if the “tail” was detachable so I could use my own USB4 cable, but at least I will never be lacking for a cable although I do worry about longevity of the non-replaceable cable.

Doesn’t do 2x HDMI 60hz, only 30hz on one of them. Disappointing. Rest of it works fine.

I shopped around a lot for selecting the best dock for an M1 MacBook Air and decided to try this Hyper dock 10-port dock. It works wonderfully well. It’s a high performance dock with all the connectivity you need on a Mac. Power passthrough works well, HDMI drives a 4K60Hz external monitor, SD Card performance is very good and Ethernet adapter works well too, all with only one cable attached. It’s a must buy !
