Excellent capture device for the price
The Acer USB 3.0 Capture Card has 1 HDMI input, 1 3.5mm microphone input, 1 HDMI output and 1 3.5mm headphone jack. This device can capture HDMI input and monaural audio input signals and transmit HDMI output and stereo audio output signals simultaneously. The audio input can be used to speak into a microphone while you capture your HDMI footage. The device comes with two USB connections so that it will be compatible with most devices. It has a standard USB connector and a USB-C connector. The capture device is small and features a braided cable, which feels sturdy and the case is made of aluminum. It never felt hot while I was using it. It is a USB 3.0 device but it will work with USB 2.0 ports for every screen resolution and frame rate except for 1920 x 1080 at 60 frames per second. You will have to plug the device into a USB 3.0 port for this resolution and frame rate.I used the VirtualDub capture program with the Acer capture device on Windows 10. There are several settings that are adjustable on this device. For the picture, you can adjust the brightness, contrast, hue and saturation to your liking.I recorded footage from a game that was converted to 1080p through a composite to HDMI converter and I noticed that the picture was brighter and didn’t need to be adjusted. I also recorded footage from the same game that was converted from RGB to component and then converted a second time from component to HDMI without upscaling. This setup is not a standard HDMI resolution, but it still worked and I had to adjust the color settings because it was darker. This device can capture uncompressed videos with the YUV format and compressed videos with the MJPG format. The screen resolutions that you can choose from are:640 x 480720 x 480720 x 576800 x 6001024 x 7681280 x 7201280 x 9601280 x 10241360 x 7681600 x 12001920 x 1080The audio settings are not adjustable on this device. The default sound format is 2 channel, 16 bit, 48000 Hz or DVD quality. This is an excellent device that offers a lot of features for something so affordable. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants to capture footage from an HDMI source.

Your output device needs an output port
Seemed easy enough to use, but beware – the device you are recording from needs an HDMI – OUT port

Works well and is easy to setup
So I bought this capture card to record my Wii Sports gaming footage. I watched a tutorial on YouTube to figure out that this capture card is used to get the footage of the game into OBS Studio. It is very easy to setup! Once I got the HDMI IN to the computer and the HDMI

    Stable quality and diverse functions.
This Acer USB 3.0 video capture card is more stable than I expected, and the overall build quality is excellent. The exterior is a sophisticated metallic gray, which doesn’t look cheap and feels solid. The operating temperature is well controlled after connecting to the computer; it doesn’t get hot even after prolonged use.Functionally, it’s truly comprehensive. It supports 4K input and 1080P 60Hz output, producing clean results without graininess or uneven color saturation. It uses the YUY2 format, resulting in more natural colors than the MJPEG commonly used in cheaper capture cards, especially noticeable in fast-paced games. Latency is also well controlled; I used it on Switch and PS5, and the picture and sound were perfectly synchronized without noticeable stuttering. One particularly valuable feature is its additional mic in, allowing you to directly plug in a 3.5mm microphone. This is incredibly convenient for those who need to record and commentate simultaneously, eliminating the need for a separate mixer or a bunch of cables, simplifying the process significantly. In my tests, the audio and video synchronization was very accurate, requiring no post-production adjustments.Installation was virtually effortless; it’s truly plug and play. I tested it on both Windows and Mac, and no additional driver downloads were needed. This is incredibly user friendly for those who aren’t tech savvy.Considering its overall quality, image stability, additional features, compatibility, and Acer’s established brand reputation, I think the price is very reasonable. If you’re simply looking for a capture card that’s hassle-free, plug and play, and maintains image quality, this one is definitely worth buying.

    Intermittent blur problems
Poor video quality; see attached images. portions of the screen would be arbitrarily blurry. this problem would phase in and out, really strange. Very easy plug & play, but unusable because of the video issue. One of the attached images is a direct connection from my player to my monitor, the other connection is through the device. You can see the blurry tissues on the left side of the screen.

I have received this for free with the Amazon Vine program, in exchange for a completely unbiased review and perspective. No strings attached!Acer delivers a highly functional piece of hardware with this capture card. The dual-head USB-A and USB-C cable is a brilliant touch, allowing me to switch between my desktop and laptop without digging for adapters. The 4K 60Hz loop-out performs as advertised, providing a zero-latency experience on my primary gaming monitor while sending a crisp 1080p 60fps signal to my recording software. It uses standard UVC drivers, so it worked the second I plugged it into OBS.The aluminum chassis feels rugged and helps dissipate heat during long capture sessions. Video quality is sharp with minimal artifacts, and the audio sync remains rock solid even after hours of use. While it captures at 1080p rather than 4K, the 4K pass-through ensures your gaming experience isn’t downgraded. This device is a powerhouse for anyone needing a reliable way to stream console gameplay or convert a DSLR into a high-end webcam.

I’ve been using this Acer capture card for a few days now with my PS5 and it’s been absolutely smooth sailing from the start. The setup was genuinely plug and play, I connected my console to the capture card, ran the output to my monitor, and plugged the braided USB cable into my PC. OBS recognized it immediately without any driver installation or fussing around. The 1080p 60Hz capture quality is sharp and clean, exactly what I need for streaming on Twitch. There’s no noticeable lag between what I’m seeing on my monitor and what’s being captured, which is crucial when you’re gaming and trying to commentate at the same time. The 4K passthrough works perfectly so I’m not sacrificing visual quality on my end just to capture footage. The braided cable feels durable and premium, though I do wish it was detachable because the fixed length determines where I can position the device on my desk. The 3.5mm port for mic input is handy for adding commentary directly without needing separate audio interfaces. For the price point this is a solid capture card that handles everything I throw at it, and the compact size means it doesn’t take up much space in my setup.

This device has leveled up my streaming setup in ways I wasn’t expecting. The 4K loop-out feature works flawlessly, I play my Xbox games on my monitor while the card captures everything in crisp 1080P at 60 frames per second for my Twitch stream. There’s absolutely zero lag between my controller inputs and what appears on screen which matters hugely for competitive gaming.Setup was ridiculously simple, literally just plugged the USB 3.0 cable into my laptop and connected my console through HDMI and I was streaming within minutes. The compact design doesn’t dominate my desk space which I appreciate since I’ve already got a bunch of equipment crowding the area. I’ve been using it for both gaming content and video conferences for work meetings and the picture quality stays consistently sharp regardless of the application.I like the compatibility, it works with everything I’ve thrown at it including my old PS4, my Switch for Nintendo content, and even my DSLR when I want higher quality camera footage. The build feels premium and durable, not like cheaper capture devices I’ve tried before. You do need software like OBS which took me about ten minutes to configure but that’s pretty standard. The signal stability has been rock solid through hours of streaming. Really pleased with this purchase overall.

This unit feels well made in the hand. The body feels solid, and the cable is a nice, quality-feeling braided cable. I do wish that the cable were detachable, but it is not. The cable can connect to your computer via either USB-A or USB-C.I’m pretty new to capture cards using open source software – my past experiences had involved cards which came with software – so I was curious to see how well this one would work with OBS.It was trouble-free. I was able to easily get it to be recognized by OBS (on macOS) and within a few minutes I was capturing video from a PS5 while a high-action video game was playing. On playback it looked perfect and my son reported no lag with the device capturing. One annoyance was that the HDMI inputs and outputs were not labelled. That’s a miss that will keep annoying users every time they plug in – unless they label it themselves. For the price ($19.99 CAD at time of writing), I think this is a great value. I am astounded that you can capture quality video for this little money. I would have anticipated spending considerably more.

I always thought Acer was a reliable brand, and here it wasn’t any different. Connection was easy, just plugging in the video and audio ins to the capture card and connecting them out again. The attached braided cable went right into my computer, and this pretty much decided where the device would go since I can’t control this cable length. This capture card is notably bigger than the regular one I have though, which I hope means it’s of better quality. I can’t say I notice a huge difference, but I don’t have anything to passthrough at 4K, and capturing at 1080p seems standard. It comes with a default USB A plugin with a type C adapter on the braided cable for the computer, and using with or without the adapter didn’t affect the video quality that I could notice. Worked with OBS on Windows 11.[This is a review for:acer USB 3.0 Video Capture Card, HDMI Capture Card for Streaming with 4K Loop-Out & USB A/C | 1080P 60Hz HD | Video Audio Capture Device for Game Capturing, Live Streaming, Video Conference ]
