Quick, Light, and Budget Friendly
I bought this 14-inch HP Chromebook primarily for web browsing and simple tasks. The overall quality for the price point is solid, and the Glacier Silver looks sleek and modern. Ease of setup was a breeze—it was ready to go within minutes of logging into my Google account. The Intel N100 processor handles web apps with respectable ease of use, and for basic schoolwork or media consumption, it’s efficient. It does not have a touchscreen, but the trackpad is responsive. For someone who lives in the Google ecosystem, the value for money is outstanding as a secondary or travel machine

This laptop is an excellent supplement to my desktop windows PC. It’s speedy, lightweight, and turns on in a blink. I appreciate the privacy settings and that I can disable all the (MANY) AI features as I’m not into that – if you are, you’ll be pleased with the functionality. If you’re not, it’s easy to turn off.Since the OS is chrome, signing into a google account makes setting up all of your access stupidly simple. The entire startup process – including downloading updates, which were estimated at an hour long – took less than 20 minutes including the time I spent finicking with the text display, background, etc., and then I was off to the races.The screen is beautifully matte. No distracting glare or reflection means I don’t have to stare into my own eyes while typing this. The speakers aren’t anything to write home over and the sound gets garbled at the higher end of the volume range, but as I’ll personally be using my headphones it’s not a concern for me.If this laptop will supplement your windows computer, I ~strongly~ recommend google remote desktop. You can link this laptop to any of your other devices and access them securely. No third party scaries with questionable security – just google! I was initially a little disappointed that I wouldn’t be able to run any of my windows specific programs, but this solves that problem with the side benefit of not having to re-install everything. Just run the remote access on both machines et voila! You’re in. The other PC does have to be on, but there is no noticeable lag and it runs amazingly.A caveat – Google Meet is preinstalled, which is convenient, but it’s the barest of bare bones. The video call was clear, with crisp sound and not a moment of lag even when switched between chrome’s web access and the app, but I mean BARE bones. No background filters or removal, no blur, just plain unaltered video. Looking into it, it appears that the version available is not able to use these features. I was very surprised considering it’s a native app, built for this OS and even my very dumb, very cheap android can handle it better. A word of caution if that’s part of your intended use.Everything else is similarly efficient. It works. The apps are numerous, fast, and easy to use, and I was pleasantly surprised at the speed and smooth playback even when I opened everything at once.This laptop is quick, lightweight but solid, a good value, and an awesome supplement to my PC. It will be valuable for me to have to continue managing my business while I’m on the go, and would be a great option for simple entertainment needs.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Simplicity and ease of use, that’s what we like. Setup is as easy as it gets, especially if you’re already an android user and have a Google account. This is the easiest device I’ve ever set up, hands down. It was up and fully running in about 20 minutes or less. Many thanks to HP for streamlining this process. The build quality is excellent, which is what I’ve come to expect from HP so no surprises there. I love that it runs the Chromebook OS rather than Windows. I’m very familiar with both but tired of Windows bloatware and this OS is refreshing to use. Apps are easy to browse and quick to download. The AI and privacy settings allow you to easily tailor them to your liking and I appreciate that. It has 4 gigs of RAM and 64gigs of storage so it’s not a monster but it’s no slouch either. It’s not designed to be a gaming laptop so don’t expect great results if you’re running a meaty game. It is very good for tasking and streaming however. This laptop boots in a heartbeat, very fast. I’m using a Starlink connection and web surfing has been seamless and flawless. I’ve had zero problems running DIY vids and streaming movies. The speakers are sub-par so don’t expect great sound. In less than a minute I was able to connect my JBL Flip via Bluetooth so no problem there. The screen is as crisp as it gets and has a beautiful matte finish. Battery life is decent and it recharges pretty fast. It can run a little warm but that’s not a big surprise. Most laptops run warm in my opinion and it’s not any hotter than others I’ve owned. It could benefit from more C-ports but not a deal breaker. It’s an outstanding laptop for the price in my opinion.

Misleading Description
They claim in the description that it has 128 GB memory they list it as 64 GB eMMc + 64 GB MSD. The issue is this Chromebook doesn’t have a MSD or SD slot. They just throw in a 64 GB MSD card that doesn’t even work with the laptop to claim it has 128 GB storage in the description.
