Dependable.
Great quality, compact and foldable, even through light clouds it has good power output. Will charge from inside vehicle window. I use it for phone and drone batteries.

A solid solar panel, works for most small electronics
I use it as an emergency power source for my small electronics and GPS unit via the rechargeable Nestout battery. Thats right in the wheelhouse for this solar panel.Ruggedness: Seems well put together, and of high quality materials. That being said, the velcro fastened legs used to prop up the device so it can properly face the angle of the sun could be a little more sturdy. You will need a solid surface if you are going to use them. All in all, I like the look of this panel. It just says “I’m ready for the outdoors!”.Charging time: It fully charged the Nestout 15k mAh battery from 40 to 100% in a period of about 7-hours. Needs full sun, and you might have to move it around to get the full charging effect. I recommend the 15k mAh battery because you can charge a smartphone or GPS multiple times with it. There is a lighter and smaller version as well, but I like the longer lasting battery power of the 15k.Portability: Packs away easily in most 60-90l hiking packs. With the 15K mAH battery it is a little hefty, but not unmanageable. You can pack the cables, battery, and any other accessories inside the pouch of the solar panel to save space. There is a way to charge the panel as you go, by securing to a backpack but I’m not sure how effective it is.Value for money: You could probably find better panels out there, but I can’t argue with the price of this unit. Its priced about right, and fits the need.I love this device and the battery that i purchased separately. With the long term unreliability of the US power grid being a concern of mine, its important to have a backup option. Plus, you can take this wherever you go, even on vacation and have a reliable option to keep your devices charged!

Very handy and simple to use
I have several portable solar panels for different occasions and purposes but, the one thing that separates this one from others is the handy pouch to carry a battery power pack and cords. This 28W panel is also compact enough to strap onto a backpack or place inside. With backpacking, any added weight is not desirable but, if you’re going to be roughing it for a few days or more in the wilderness and need a power source, then this would be a good contender. BUT, if you are going to be where there’s going to be an issue with having enough direct sunlight for effective solar charging then maybe taking several power packs would be more effective and logical. I like this solar charging panel and its portability. The output reading is bright enough and easy to see how much sunlight you’re getting and it does have two USB slots for dual charging capabilities. The only thing I do not like is the lack of a Type C port. I’m assuming it has to do with the type of solar power converted they’re using so it’s not a deal breaker for me. Hopefully they will come out with an updated version, which I would gladly buy IF it’s not too much more expensive. Overall I like this portable solar power charging system and the quality of the design and materials is pretty good. So, if you’re into backpacking, hiking, camping, or prepping then I recommend it. Other than hiking and backpacking, this panel is also part of my bug out gear list. You never know when you gotta make a run for it…

I’m impressed with the quality!
Very high quality for the price paid! Solar panel seems to be pretty efficient. I like the design and how everything is well thought out.

Good rugged and portable solar charger.
Charges devices quickly and is rugged and portable. Only issue I had was overheating the battery when charging in hot temps. Placing the battery under the solar panel helps but it still can overheat.

Wonderful little solar charger kit
I received this as a gift to replace an aging GoalZero solar charger that just wasn’t performing to promise. This is objectively superior in every way.Build quality is solid, form factor is decently compact when folded, and I love the sealing zippers.Works well with the Nestout battery bank/lantern I received with it.No complaints so far.

Slightly hefty for backpacking or bikepacking / bike touring, but extremely well thought out.
It’s everything all the other 5 star reviews state, but one thing that was not as accurate as it could have been was the claimed weight. I weighed it on my precise digital scale 870g vs the stated 771g. So it does feel a bit hefty for backpacking and bike touring. That said, I don’t I’ll ever run out of power again given the total surface area on the 4 x solar panels. There’s a lot of solar panel here for a portable unit. It’s incredibly well designed, in Japan, although it’s made in China, so hopefully it’ll hold up in on the trail and on the road. And for the price, out of the box, it seems like a good value. Also, as noted, it holds perfectly the 15k battery (or any brick in that size category) with a protected, zippered pouch. Thoughtful!

I’ve been looking to purchase a portable solar panel for a while now, have finally pulled the trigger on this ELECOM 28W model.- Clever Japanese design (made in China), built-in multi angle stand with printed diagrams on the back of the panels. See picture attached.- Unique olive green color in ripstop nylon fabric. Better than black that absorbs more heat which can lead to inefficient solar panel performance.- Works as intended, charged phone from 68% to fully charged in around 1 hour and 35 minutes. No clouds.- Perfect to charge phones and power banks.Note comes with manual in Japanese only. But a product like this is not hard to figure out.ELECOM customer service also confirmed this has auto-reset function.Glad I waited to find and buy this product.
