Great upgrade for a starter interface
This interface is awesome. I upgraded from a Scarlett that died on me and this one is superior in my opinion. It is USB-C powered which is very convenient. The input quality is fantastic and the compressor adds a lot of character/boost if needed. The included software and plug-ins are top notch, (they’re UA, what do you expect?).Overall, I think that it is definitely worth the price if you need an upgrade from something simple.

    Top of the line
I’ve had this audio interface about 2 weeks now, and I have to say, the UA 276 is the best USB interface that I have owned. The built-in compressors, and the outstanding mic preamps is one of the biggest selling points for me. Getting the free plugins bundle that comes with it doesn’t hurt either. It’s a plug-and-play situation with Macs, but it also works with iPads and iPhones too. The sound quality is pristine in my DAW, Logic Pro X and Studio One, and Reaper as well. It’s built very solidly, so it is pretty sturdy. I’ll do an update after I have used it over 6 months.

    Just a solid choice
Does everything an audio interface should do. Added bonus of being able to add compressors to any inputs. Two possibilities of power sources is nice as well. Monitor volume can get significantly louder than any other interface I’ve used. Volume overhead for inputs is also able to get louder without adding significant buzz or white noise.

    WORTH THE MONEY!
Upgraded from Rode A1 interface & this things a beast, the compressor makes your vocals sound so nice & clear, works perfectly with my Shure SM7DB so I get the preamp from both the mic & interface so I’ll never have to worry about my vocals being too low or distorted sounding in anyway. Well worth the money, I don’t have a laptop & I use my phone to record on with connectors so I don’t have access to plug ins so the built in compressor is perfect for my set up. Both my shure & rode nt1 sound so clear, with the rode A1 there was static sounding with both mics but the sound is gone completely with this universal interface!

    Good hardware
The product is great but forcing me to download the UA software to run in the background is really F’ing annoying (Windows). On Linux it works without installing any drivers.

    Love it!
I have 2 of these and I use them for travel recording, and for live streaming, and they’re great. It’s simple and connects to your phone for livestreams or recording better audio for videos.

Great Sounding Interface with the Vintage and Compression
I am in love with this interface. It’s the icing on the cake. It just sounds great with the vintage button on and the compressor on vocal. I am using it for spoken word, (Podcast). I was looking not to have to do as much in post with eq and compression.Paired with the Presonus Studio Channel preamp (Mic plugged into the Studio Channel) and then into the volt combo jack with a trs balanced cable from the “out” on the Studio Channel, (gain all the way down on the volt) I am able to use the compression on the Studio Channel, and eq from the Studio Channel into the volt and still use the vintage button on the volt to add a bit of color and then the 76 style compressor on the volt as well. Even though the gain needs to be all the way down on the volt, (to avoid using the volt preamp, as I am using the Studio Channels Mic preamp) I can still use the vintage and compression buttons and they just make the chain complete. So I end up with 2 compressors sharing the load and the eq from the studio channel. I don’t even use an eq in post. I switched the tube on the Studio Channel to an electro harmonix 12ax7 and I am getting great sound. So it’s Mic Into the Studio Channel>TRS from the Studio Channel 1/4″ out (trs) into Volt combo jack (trs) with gain down all the way and the vintage and 76 compressor button on and from the volt into my computer via usb as with any other interface and I am very happy. This added the missing link for me. It just added the right amount of color and compression that I was looking for. This is a great chain for spoken word, solo that is. The presonus is only single channel. That’s not to say this interface can’t hold it’s own on it’s own, you just have to put a bit more effort into post which I don’t want to do. I want my sound going in and then add a spot of imaging or very little. It’s worth the $300. No regrets. And it looks awesome too.

I purchased this based on the “analog” circuits in this digital interface.First, I really like the aesthetics. The wood is real and the metal is solid and excellent. LEDs are very cool on it as well.USB C to USB C is nice too, latency is almost undetectable. I use this for guitar, recording on a DAW, and also Rocksmith using the ASIO driver. The analog compressor circuit is really cool too. Sure you can’t dial it in like a real 1176, but the presets are extremely usable and doesn’t cost thousands of dollars. Very usable for a microphone and not having to go through a DAW to have some compression on vocals. Also really liked the free plugins, there were a ton of free programs and plugins that I felt were really worth it.Overall would 100% recommend to anyone looking for more of a midrange solution.

This is my 1st ever Volt interface, and I’m happy with it. I bought the 276. I use it for recording metal guitars and vocals, and am happy with the pre amps. My only gripe is the compressor button will introduce a loud noise floor, so use at caution. I don’t ever use it for recording vocals/guitars, but sometimes use it when chatting over discord etc. The compressor is basically a gimmick.Built quality is sturdy and nice, the interface looks really cool. The headphone input has TONS of volume so no worries about lack of volume when recording and listening. The vintage mode adds some nice warmth to my guitars and vocals. The installation and set up was easy as 123, and the free bundled software is really cool. Comes with Ableton Lite, several plug ins etc. Would definitely recommend to anyone not sure about this interface.Every now and then I will hear some crackling but this is due to me needing to update my PC’s bios. I am using Windows 11.

This UA Volt 276 is hands down the best bang for buck interface I have used in 30 years. (I’ve tried Focusrite, MAudio, Avid, MOTU & more).Im comparing this to both my focusrite scarlet, and to when I first started recording on analog reel to reel tape in the days where engineers built their own preamps and before things went digital. The volt 276 blows the scarlet away because the volt sort of recreates those analog days when we had very high quality iron, as in mic preamps, and outboard compressors on the way in, so you could put a $150 Shure SM57 in front of a singer or a $4000 Neumann u87 mic , and both would sound great because of the input signal chain.95% of people wont have experienced the magic of doing that because a lot of that outboard gear costs enough to buy a used car. Until now. This UA Volt interface has compressors and a tube modeller circuit that adds second and fourth order harmonics for that elusive, in your face, punchy studio sound that you have only heard on the worlds greatest records. TLDR you get a studio sound even before you put any plugins onto your mix.i also suggest at least once, try driving the preamp pretty hard. because the compressor and vintage circuit will kick in and help clamp down the signal while also giving really pleasant subtle distortion if you really crank it.This interface is not for the pristine or faint hearted surgical “paper specs know-it-alls” who want everything clean and boring. Yes it will do clean at low gain, but it’s all sorts of colorful and fun at higher gains. This is for those with creativity, ballz, and who arent scared to crank it if they want a bit or a lot of color. You could release a whole song with this thing, with no further plugins at all, if you know what you are doing. Of course it shines if you add reverb chorus delays and further compression in post. Just wonderful sounds out of the box. All other interfaces sound flat and lifeless in comparison- obviously-because this Volt is like having serious outboard gear PLUS an interface in one unit. 5 stars
