Highly responsive to light, make sure you have a solid power backup box/battery.
In low light, I was able to get to half the open-circuit voltage (see image), so on a normal day, even with clouds, I suspect this should perk up and get me a respectable amount of power.The whole product is great. The solar panels fold up into an easily carried shape, and it fits in the included case easily. The grommets make hanging it easy, but the kickstands in the back make it easy to stand this up almost anywhere.It comes with a number of different connectors. It says that some of these are suitable for direct charging electronics, but definitely check to see if they’ll take it. Anything with a motor (e.g. computer fan) may suffer from voltage drops and you don’t want to put too much voltage through anything – it wasn’t clear to me if this is avoidable automatically, so I steered clear.Ultimately, this is for a battery box/power backup box. It contains connectors for multiple types of boxes. The charge isn’t super speedy, but it’s more than enough for basic camping and definitely worth having if you need to be prepared for a lack of power – but given the max wattage, you will be somewhat limited. Regardless, I like the product a lot.

This review is for the TPDEFZQ brand 200 watt ETFE portable solar panel.In short, I like this panel a lot. It performed well in my testing and it comes with a handy carry case like more premium products.When I first lifted it out of the box, my first impression was “holy crap this is heavy!” The product listing claims just shy of 17 pounds. I didn’t weigh it, but yes it is heavy! This is not a complaint per se, but an observation. ETFE panels are made from several laminated layers. The construction is robust, but it comes with added weight. My impression is that with reasonable care, these will last.The panel comes in a cleverly designed carrying case. The case has a pocket that easily fits the included cable and adapters.I tested it late afternoon. It was over 100 degrees outside with clouds dotting the sky.Setup was more cumbersome than I would have liked, but I had them pointed at the sun in only a couple of minutes.When I first setup, the sun was behind a cloud. Given the conditions, I expected roughly 60% of the rated output for a quality portable panel. I was impressed with the panel and my guess as I measured 58% of the rated output (116.4 watts).I let it sit for a while as I took photos and did chores. After a while, the sun came out from behind the cloud so I checked my meter again. It was producing about 181 watts (90% of rated output). Given the imperfect test conditions, I was very happy with that result. I left my meter on to watch the power output while the sun was out. It stayed in the high 170’s the whole time.The one thing I think needs to be improved with this panel is the length of the cables from the panel. A couple of inches is just not adequate. Disconnecting my test leads was a bit of a pain. Yes, I got them undone, but it was more difficult than it should be. I like having short cables, but these are too short.Lastly, I spotted what looks like a manufacturing defect near the bottom of one of the panels. It did not seem to affect the output of my panel, but make sure you look yours over carefully if you decide to buy one.4.5 stars considering the short cables, the defect and the disposable brand name. I rounded up, because of the carrying case. I wish my other portable panels came with a similar case.

Portable Solar Panel
This comes with 5 input power adapters which will cover most situations. Oddly, they don’t include an adapter for any SAE connections, which is what I needed for my camper. But it did recharge my Jackery and my larger Bluetti battery bank just fine; having both required inputs. I had pretty good sunny conditions, not 100% ideal, but the most input I could get was 135w; 124w on my first day of testing it. What I didn’t like, any shadow causes a significant drop. Just a small 5″ hand shadow over one panel caused it to drop 30+ watts. So to keep the input high, you will have to adjust the panels constantly; which can be tricky with the 3-leg tripod setup. It folds nicely. Overall, I’m OK with the panel. The original $239 price, IMO, is too high but the current coupon price is good. It’s exactly as shown.

TPDEFZQ N-Type 16BB 200W Portable Solar Panel N-Type 16BB 200W Portable Solar Panel. This is a large folding panel that is advertised as a 200w output. While I do not expect to get results that high because ratings are usually obtained under ideal laboratory conditions. However, I was disappointed in the performance of this panel. I tested it in West Texas sunshine at 101*F ambient temp. Skies had intermittent high cirrus clouds. At best, I could get only 123w @ 20.0vDC. (see photo) I compared this with another 200w name brand PV panel that generated 182w at the same location, same time, same angle of incidence (laid flat, no angle of inclination). I also noticed that the panel was *very* reactive to partial shadowing of a single panel, such as an arm or small branch.I do really like that TPDEFZQ used MC4 connections out of the panel. They included a MC4 to multi end adapter cable (see Amazon listing for specifics). I pulled out my VOM and tested each termination. Each termination showed good continuity and low resistance. This inferred that the terminations were well made before being put into the mold.While this is a portable panel with nice fit and finish, I cannot help but wonder, based upon direct measured observation, if the efficiency is as high as stated.
