Great smart outlets
I’ve replaced quite a few of my standard outlets with these. They’re relatively inexpensive, super easy to install and configure with the Tapo app, and I like that I can create automations based on sunrise/sunsets, power usage, etc. I’ve encountered a few quirks trying to get them to integrate into Apple Home and Home Assistant, but generally they work very well.

Great Home Automation Switches!
We use a lot of these plugs in our Apple Homekit-powered home, and I’ve been very happy with them. Setup is lightning-quick, and updating the firmware is a snap. They do exactly what they need to do without fail.

Couldn’t be easier
Works flawlessly! Easily connected to WiFi and app makes it easy to control. Have purchased several more now!

Good but Integration Could Be Improved
Nice smart plug with energy monitoring feature. It shows the power consumption of connected devices clearly. However, there is a minor issue: while it stays connected in the Tapo app, it sometimes shows as offline in Google Home via Matter. Not sure whether it’s a Google Home issue or a Tapo issue, but hopefully it can be improved in the future.

Absolute Piece of Mind
There’s a special kind of terror that only a forgotten iron can conjure. The sudden jolt of adrenaline, the mental image of a small, glowing appliance slowly scorching a hole in your floor—it’s a truly unique kind of panic. This smart outlet is the perfect antidote to that very modern fear. With a little help from Home Assistant, I’ve set up a flawless automation: it ensures the outlet is shut off, then turns it back on just to confirm the deed is done. It works perfectly, providing a level of peace of mind that a simple “Did I remember?” can never match. It’s a flawless, fire-preventing, and anxiety-reducing gadget. This is a must-have for anyone with an iron and a memory that occasionally goes on vacation.

Easy to set up and control
This was easy to set up and it works perfectly. The two outlets can be controlled separately and I can see the power use of each. The only negative so far is that it is a tight fit in the outlet box. If you have extra wires it may be a problem.Five stars for now, but I hope this lasts longer than the tapo plugs I had. They started to fail this week.

Works with Home Assistant
UPDATED: Overall this unit satisfies all my requirements.Cons:The Wifi signal strength seems lower than other smart plugs. You have to use their app to configure. Yet another username and password to remember.Pros:It integrates with Home Assistant using the TP-Link Smart Home integration. The outlet size that goes into the electrical box is smaller than other smart plugs and fits better into the electrical box in the wall.Works with wpa2-personalPairing:1. Need to use their phone app.2. Be sure to keep your phone with in 18″ during pairing.3. Make sure the device can phone home via internet. Otherwise the app will fail to pair. Even though it is connected to your wifi.4. If you have multiple units you’ll need to use IP or local DNS to attach to HA.

Good quality. Easy to install. Can connect with Tapo easily. It auto-prompts to add this device after opening the Tapo app.

Very easy to install. But when the breaker gets turned on, the Tapo app recognizes it as a new device right away. However, I still needed to manually add it as a new device to pair it to my network.

Yes, it works. I linked Tapo and kasa matter to Alexa.

They are good as long as they are working and once they stop working then buy another one. Amazon customer service is next level. I wish this was a great product. Additionally as it’s an IOT it shares data with the cloud and manufacturer, I guess that’s a risk with every IOT device though if you look at their privacy policy then it’s difficult to convince yourself to go with this brand.
