This 75% keyboard with no big dealbrakers is a blessing in a sea of defective mediocre options
Getting right to the point – this Solakaka 75% mechanical keyboard is surprisingly one of the best keyboards of this form factor that I’ve evaluated despite not being a well known brand even for that niche. The build quality is very nice with solid linear switches and basic but functional keycaps that feel good to type on. It has the mode switch, port and dongle storage on the back of the board and is Tri-mode like most good mid range mechanicals do now. The customizing driver is the same OEMDRV almost every other keyboard like this uses, and it works fine, but not as good as QMK/VIA. The biggest downsides to this board (and the only reasons its 4 stars and not 5) are that there are no reactive lighting modes for when the keyboard is lit, and that there is an “End” key but no “Home” key and you must Fn+End to get Home – which may be unintuitive but this can be re-assigned in the software if needed. There do exist 75% keyboards that have complete Home/End and Page Up/Page Down pairs, and I wished this was one of them. This product does have a hilarious downfall that has no impact on usage… It has the UGLIEST BOX I’ve ever seen for a keyboard! Even the manual somehow has the craziest DROP SHADOW I’ve ever seen on a font – but you know what? This stuff adds charm to it and I’m not gonna dock a star for it. This thing came so close to being perfect – just those 2 issues I mentioned earlier keeps it from that. For some reason the 75% form factor seems cursed because out of around a dozen I’ve tried almost all of them have some of the worst keyboard issues I’ve ever encountered ranging from dropped inputs, broken firmware, unprogrammable keys, NO software, or bad build. This one doesn’t have anything dealbreaking like that and emerges with a $60 asking price which is about average for a good build quality which it does have, so value for money is okay. I really look forward to seeing what else Solakaka brings out, I see some real potential here, and if they keep making ugly boxes I’m totally fine with it. Recommended!

    Basically an Aula F75
This keyboard is essentially identical to the much-loved Aula F75/F75 Pro in build, style, and sound. The Aula F75/F75 Pro is what I would guess was one of the best-selling budget 75% keyboards of 2025. In fact, I would be surprised if this A75 wasn’t manufactured by the same company. The only difference I’ve been able to see between this and the newer Aula F75 is that this comes in a different colorway, being solid blue instead of dual-colored white with a blue base. Battery size/life is the same, the knob is the same, the settings and key presses to change settings are the same, and the layout is identical. Keep in mind, there are a LOT of budget keyboards that have a similar form factor, case, or overall look to the F75, but all of them that I’ve tried to this point feel and sound different. This A75 is IDENTICAL.The A75 has south-facing LEDs, which is the same as the newer Aula F75 and older F75 Pro. All of the sound dampening layers are also the same, and you can tell that this has a layer of silicone in the bottom of the case for absorption of hollow sounds, giving this keyboard a really pleasant, creamy sound right out of the box.The stock Leobog Reaper switches aren’t my favorite, and it would’ve been nice for this to have come with Star Vector switches, like the Aula F75 Pro, but honestly, Reapers aren’t bad. The have a pretty nice creamy, slightly poppy, clacky sound right out of the box, but swapping switches and keycaps give you the opportunity to modify the board to sound deeper/thocky, poppy, marble-y, silent, or clicky, if you’re the special kind of psychopath that enjoys clicky switches 🙃.Build quality is good. The case is plastic, but that’s not a huge deal, since most keyboards are plastic until you start getting into slightly more expensive mechanical keyboards with aluminum or metal cases.A few of the features I love about this board are:● It has a knob. For me, this is a feature I always look for in my keyboards and if I have a choice between having one and not, I’ll always choose the model that has one. Not everyone finds that functionality necessary, but as someone who is often either listening to music, playing a game, or watching a video, being able to change the volume or mute something instantly is super convenient vs having to remember which function buttons I need to press in combination with which number keys.● It has a mode toggle on the back of the board. I can’t stress how nice it is to be able to toggle between wired, BT and 2.4 ghz wireless just by sliding the switch. Even expensive custom keyboards these days often make you remove a keycap to turn wireless capabilities on, and then you have to memorize some set of keypresses to get the keyboard to switch into the mode you want.● It has on-board USB dongle storage. Again, even custom boards lack this functionality a lot of the time, which makes storing and not losing your dongles a challenge. Having someplace on the board to just put the dongle and have it be safe and secure is a really nice feature that cannot be overlooked. All modes of connectivity work flawlessly, although I tend to use my boards in wired mode 99% of the time.I included a video of how this board sounds right out of the box with no changes or modifications. For the price, especially if you can get this on sale, this is an incredible value, for sure.
