Why would a Gen4 SSD run at only half its advertised speed?
This occurs when the NVME M.2 Gen4 SSD is installed in an older PCIe 3.0 M.2 slot. The slot’s bandwidth limits the speed to Gen3 levels, which is about half of Gen4. To achieve full advertised speeds, a PCIe 4.0 (or newer ) M.2 interface is required.
How can I check if my computer supports PCIe Gen4?
Desktops: Press Win+R → msinfo32→ find the motherboard model and search specifications online to confirm further.

The SIX NVMe M.2 SSD PCIe 4.0 (1TB, 2280) absolutely exceeded my expectations. It arrived well packaged with everything I needed — an optional heatsink, screwdriver, screw, and standoff — which honestly saved me a trip to the store since I had lost my factory set screw on my laptop. That extra attention to detail really stood out.Installation was quick and easy on my Lenovo gaming laptop, and the drive runs fast, cool, and stable. Great sale price on an excellent SSD
I’m rating this Six 4 terabyte SSD at 5. Although my HP Elite Book 845 G8 only has a Gen 3X4 motherboard I am getting what is probably the best you can get, averaging around 3715 Mb/s read and around 3475 Mb/s write using Crystal Disk Mark 9.0.1 X64. This SSD is quite responsive and has no failures of any sort. I believe that if you have a PCI Gen 4 motherboard then you should get the advertised 7550 Mb/s read speed.

Great Drive at a Great Price
I decided to get this for my laptop as I needed more drive space and was looking for something that would also be high speed. So far this drive has been working great! Really fast for the price, speeds have been working just as advertised so far. Installation was also pretty easy, I did have to use disk management to get it to show on my laptop, but that’s pretty common to have to do for these. Overall I am really happy with it.

Ich habe die SSD in meinen Laptop Acer Nitro v 15 eingebaut. 1 TB reichte einfach nicht. Das Einbauen funktionierte kinderleicht und war sehr selbsterklärend. Damit mein Laptop die Speicherkarte erkennt musste ich ein bisschen im System rum experimentieren (war mein erstes Mal), was mit ChatGPT aber absolut kein Problem war. Das Teil bekommen selbst blutige Anfänger zum laufen.Mein Hauptgrund meinen Speicher zu erweitern war, dass ich sehr große Spiele nicht immer installieren und deinstallieren kann, wenn ich sie gerade mal spielen möchte, oder halt nicht. Dafür ist mein Internetvertrag und Router einfach nicht ausgelegt. Die Spiele laufen über Steam, das verschieben dieser auf die neue SSD ging problemlos und sehr schnell. Innerhalb weniger Minuten waren alle großen Spiele (ab 50 GB bis 250 GB) verschoben und lassen sich auch problemlos spielen.Jetzt bin ich mit insgesamt 3 TB erstmal zu Frieden, Spiele werden ja leider immer größer.

This is a high-performance Gen4 NVMe SSD with read speeds rated up to 7350MB/s, and wow does it deliver… since installing it I noticed that my game load times and large file transfers are SO much faster. It’s also brilliant for 4K/8K video editing as I’ve seen significant improvements in that everything runs much smoother now.Just a note to consider – if you wanna reach the full Gen4 speeds, your motherboard’s M.2 slot needs to support PCIe 4.0 x4. If it only supports PCIe 3.0 the drive will still be compatible, but speeds will max out around 3500MB/s (tbh still a massive difference compared to other SSDs, but not the full potential of this drive.)Installation was straight forward and the system recognized it right away, I’d say for anyone looking for a fast and affordable Gen4 SSD, this is a strong choice.
