Product description

Why does the scale only detect weight?
Please ensure you have created and selected your personal profile in the RENPHO Health App and that Bluetooth is connected during measurement.
Why does the scale only detect weight and BMI?
1. Ensure your feet are dry and bare and remove thick clothing.
2. Stand and keep still on the scale for about 10 seconds to finish the measuring process.
If still not available, try applying a little moisturizer to your feet and measure again.
Why are results different from my old body fat scale?
Our 8-electrode scale uses advanced Dual-Frequency BIA for full-body analysis, which is more accurate than lower-body-only estimates from 4-electrode scales. For tracking trends, consistency with one scale is key.
Why are my measurements inaccurate?
1. Measure at the same time daily.
2. Wait for the scale display to show “0.0”before stepping on. Stand barefoot and still until the reading is complete.
3. Avoid measuring right after exercise, showers, or large meals.
Why does the sound turn back on by default?
Pressing the Reset button will restore all factory defaults, including the sound settings. Please avoid pressing it unless necessary.

Piece of GARBAGE
Worthless. Ten times in a row and gives absolutely NOTHING MORE THAN WEIGHT.In addition instructions say to hold your arms out at 45° but it really is 60° and then you can get a reading sometimes once in a great great while. I have given up and I’m sending this piece of s*** back. Also even the weight measurement is totally inconsistent if weighing a few times in a row. I have a cheap less than $20 scale that is within half a pound of the doctor’s office scale and always gives me the same reading when I weigh a few times in a row.It seemed like it was working for a while and then it wouldn’t give me a reading 10 times in a row. Then I figured out to put my arms at 60° and to squeeze the handlebars really tightly and then it would work at least a little more than half the time. But now I literally just cannot get another reading off of it other than weight. Two HUNDRED DOLLARS is WAY TOO MUCH for a regular scale that gives only pounds

It’s accurate but broke in a couple of weeks
I have been using the scale since 12/22 and it’s 1/3. I am very happy with it and it is a huge help to me. Today I weighed in feeling bloated. The scale actually recorded that I was holding 3.4 lbs of water than last weigh in. I am 2.8 lbs but I lost 2.4 lbs of fat and gained muscle. My older scale would have indicated an increase in visceral fat since I am in retaining in my stomach. So instead of thinking I might have gained and getting discouraged, I know I am losing weight and gaining muscle. For post menopausal women, this a game changer.Update: scale stopped working properly and can no longer measure body composition. It say it did it but all the values are blank. Have to return.

Guessing would be more accurate
I purchased the MorphoScan Nova based on the claim that the device correlates accurately with DEXA data. The idea was that I would monitor my progress between the DEXA Scans, however, after comparing my results against a DEXA scan, the results were exact opposite. MorphoScan reported I was athletic and lean, DEXA Scan reported I was overweight. Unfortunately the DEXA scan is correct. Both tests were done in the same clothing and in a fasted state.DEXA Scan reported: 36% Body Fat on December 30th at 7:30amMorphoScan Nova: 11.4% Body Fat on December 30th at 6:11amI reached out to support to make sure I was not doing something wrong and below was their canned response:Based on extensive testing, our 8-electrode scale shows approximately 98% correlation with DEXA scan results. However, individual readings can sometimes appear higher or lower due to factors such as hydration, recent activity, measurement timing, and personal physiology. Please be informed that our scales use bio-electrical impedance analysis(BIA) technology to offer you the data.Currently there are several popular methods other than BIA for measuring fat percentage. The two methods widely considered the “gold standard” are weighing in water and DEXA (Dual Energy X-ray Absorption method). However, even these two methods also often present discrepancies. That’s because fat is a special and complex tissue in the human body. It includes subcutaneous fat, visceral fat, and others, and is widely present in various parts of the body.Household body fat scale manufacturers mostly use the BIA measurement method. The readings are for your reference only. If you ask for a professional device, we suggest you go to a store that sells gym or medical equipment. It is suggested that users focus on relative changes in the value measured under the same situation over long periods of time. Sticking with the same assessment system will likely yield a better overall picture of a person’s health status. The relative changes of value is more meaningful than the absolute value of a single measurement.

The $24 scale by Renpho works much better
I received the cheaper version of the scale from a FMD Prolon diet that I was following, but I wanted to see if the more expensive version provide more health feedback. This version, which costs substantially more, not only did not work as well as the cheaper scale, but what it measures was exactly the same as the $24 version. So I’m just sticking with the cheaper version as it’s working quite well for my needs. They both seem to measure the same parameters. And this more expensive version was not connecting to my bluetooth very well. In fact it seemed to be worse than the cheaper version regarding how well it connected to bluetooth.

Over-hyped scale
I was excited about the in-depth details that this scale offers. While the weight didn’t align with a scale that I know (for sure) aligns with my doctor’s office, I was hoping for consistency to track trends of long-term goals. For about 5 days straight, I weighed myself 3-4 times back-to-back as soon as I woke up each morning. I would get 3-4 different readings each time and some were off by 5+ pounds or percentages. This let me know that I couldn’t rely on it for tracking long-term trends.Overall, I was disappointed because my expectations were so high based on what I’d seen on social media and Renpho’s website. I’m sticking with my original scale with less metrics that only cost me around $50 – consistency over inflated metrics is my priority.

It’s nice and quite good for very lean and athletic people. However, it is hard to use: 1) when you step on it it doesn’t let the weight to stabilize before showing the final weight which leads to errors up to 0.5 lbs …2) often is not able to get the measurements (body fat etc) and you need to try again over and over againToo bad because when it works it provides more accurate values than another one I bought … but I prefer the other one as it works more easily and at the end of the day we are just tracking changes… so…

If you’re a real athlete/ bodybuilder who needs precision this doesn’t works. I did a DEXA body scan and I used this scale at the same time. Monday, fasted, 9am and after 2 days of rest. The scale told me I had extra 4kgs of fat and 3.5kgs less muscles.
