How much power can the USBC-9IN1E provide to charge my device?

The hub accepts up to 140W input, with 125W available to charge your laptop (using a PD 3.1 host and EPR charger). Most laptops and chargers support up to 100W input (85W to laptop). Charging speeds depend on your device and charger.

Why doesn’t the HDMI port work with my laptop?

It allows for one additional 4K@60Hz HDR display to be connected via HDMI, while using your laptop’s built-in screen. Your laptop’s USB-C port must support video output (DisplayPort Alt Mode). Without DP Alt Mode the HDMI port cannot output video.

Can I use this with my MacBook/iMac, Windows, or ChromeOS host?

USBC-9IN1E is compatible with any macOS, Windows, or ChromeOS device that supports USB Type-C (with USB Alt Mode and Power Delivery), USB4, Thunderbolt 3, or Thunderbolt 4.

Do I need to install software in order to use the device?

No, the USBC-9IN1E does not require any drivers to download or install, but we do recommend updating all system drivers to avoid any compatibility issues.

Can I connect a USB-C monitor to this hub?

No, the two USB-C ports are for passthrough USB-C Power Delivery charging and 10Gbps USB data only. Video output from the USB-C PD input and 10Gbps USB-C ports is not supported.

Why Choose This 9-in-1 Hub: In a cushy office, cramped home office, or on the go, the Plugable USB-C Hub is preferred by productive people for its 4K 60Hz HDMI, 10Gbps USB-C, USB 2.0 port, 2x USB-A 10Gbps ports (one with BC 1.2), SD, MicroSD (UHS-II), Gigabit Ethernet, built-in 7.48″ USB-C cable, and most impressive, 140W pass-through charging (that’s a lot).
Stunning 4K 60Hz HDMI for an Extra Display: Ditch the notion that hubs only exist to add a couple of legacy USB ports to your laptop. This HDMI Hub includes a 4K 60Hz HDMI port for an extended display. Just be sure your USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode.
140W Charging: Delivers up to 140W input / 125W output to your laptop when used with a PD 3.1 EPR charger and cable. Most PD 3.0 laptops max at 100W (85W to host). Use a PD 3.1 EPR charger for full charging performance.
Compatibility: Works with most USB-C, USB4, and Thunderbolt laptops that support Power Delivery and DisplayPort Alt Mode, including MacBook, Dell XPS, HP, Lenovo, Surface, and Chromebook systems. Check your system specs before purchase to confirm video and charging support.
Lifetime Support: This USB C Hub multiport adapter has been designed with reliability at its core and was built to meet the deployment demands of IT departments and the ease of use necessary for home offices. Includes lifetime support from our North American team of connectivity experts.

Plugable; good product and EXCEPTIONAL customer support!
I bought this item a few weeks ago for my new Mac mini. Mac minis do not come w/ an overabundance of connections and no USB 2.0, which is pretty much what I had been using. It took a little doing but I got the Plugable HUB working best when connected to the Thunderbolt 4 ports. The only outstanding issues are with the SD ports. I could not get my current SD to work and I did not have any micro SDs to try. Everything else seemed to work great. The customer support (Michael S and et al) was AMAZINGLY SUPER. Their attention to my problems was outstanding. A few times we even corresponded multiple times via email the same day. I would have actually given this item 4 stars had it not been for the customer support. I give their customer support a 10!

    Absolutely fantastic customer support!
Absolutely fantastic customer support! This item worked great for 3 months until one morning the Enet port failed. I contacted Plugable by email and was sent some diagnostic software which created a log that I sent back. They acknowledged an internal failure and sent a new item – all in less than a week!. It has worked flawlessly so far. And a week after I got it, they sent a followup email to check on my satisfaction. BTW, it works perfectly with my 2025 M4 Macbook

    I recommend Plugable. Well made.
works perfectly. I’ve been using the larger Plugable UD-3900PDZ for 4 years now – Works well, no problems. So I tried this slimmer Plugable USBC-9IN1E on my daughters laptop. No complaints, works well, no issues. I borrowed it for work while she was away for a few weeks and bought a cheaper version from another manufacturer to replace it. It would get very hot and the mouse would get choppy and my phone wouldn’t charge reliably. I ended up returning that one and picked up another Plugable USBC-9IN1E to replace it. Stays cool and works well.

The USB C 10Gbps port may not give you the speed you are expecting.
Overall the hub is useful. The HDMI port does do 60hz and the 1G ethernet port works as expected.I was disappointed that the USB C 10Gbps port doesn’t seem to work well with my OWC 1M2 enclosure. The read/write speeds are abysmal, rather than the 3,000gbs read/write I get when it’s directly connected to the thunderbolt 4 port on the macbook air m4 instead I am getting around 250Mbps read/write. YMMV of course depending on the enclosure used. I don’t have a different one to test with so keep this in mind.I would have given it 5 stars if if it wasn’t for that issue.

    Decent hub, but some issues
Like other long-suffering Mac laptop owners, I needed a hub to make the useless 1 available port (when charging) on my MBP work in real life. This hub offered the best balance of features and price for me, meeting my requirements of pass-through power delivery, 4K/60 HDMI support, plus the usual combo of old-school USB (one with PD) and USB-C. Plus it looks good and appears to be solidly built.Except:—Too-short cord: Like many, I raise my laptop on an eye-height stand for daily use. The ~7” cord that must be connected to the laptop to work will leave the hub stupidly dangling. Unless you have some sort of 2-tier riser.—Laptop charging: While the PD seems to keep up with laptop power needs during actual use, when I put the computer to sleep overnight and come back in the morning, it’s not fully charged. Maybe this is part of Apple’s battery health thing, but strikes me as weird.—Just one usable USB-C port if you’re using PD. But 3 legacy USB? Couldn’t we split the difference?—Price: I’m sorry, but I have trouble justifying close to $50 for a hub. Even assuming quality components inside, feels a bit…greedy.

    Needed accessories
Works very well. Just be aware that the only video out is the HDMI port; there’s no USB-C display output.

I bought this product and it failed 2 months later. I expected better but the sales department told me that the product has a 2 year warranty and they are in the process of replacing it. Excellent and fast support. It is well built and presented and I’m hoping that the new one lasts longer!

I am a little dissapointed that HDMI cannot do 120hz. Get the USB4 hub if you dont travel. Its much more versatile.

Works….and more…it’s under described. It does it all and the only issue I have is that it runs a little warm for my liking.
