Great value and easy to install and set up
I was hesitant to order from a brand I hadn’t heard of, but I was convinced by the note in the product description that said “Please give MAXKOSKO a chance, we won’t let you down, PROMISE.” I am pleasantly surprised by the thermostat and it’s easy installation, simple connection to WIFI and it has been controlling the temperature reliably and working great. It was much cheaper and more intuitive to use than the expensive control that it replaced. I’m glad I took the chance on this controller and I would not hesitate to order again.

Great product and incredible price. Have now used to control my floor heat for several months. I’m on a multi level daily rate plan. This allows me to not only turn on and off, but schedule different temperatures based on the hourly rate. Has decreased my energy costs and increased comfort vs my old programmable thermostat.

So far working out well
Great to have our in floor heating working after the original 20 plus yo thermostat died. This app based product is a clear improvement and is working well albeit it’s only been 3 days. The install was a bit bumpy and instructions incomplete. Seems it’s always a challenge to pair such products with home wifi but after a few tries it worked. Apple home didn’t recognize it, a minor detail. Had to modify the existing metal box to accommodate the new thermostat, if it had been a plastic box it wouldn’t have been an issue. if it holds up I’d say it was a good deal.

This has been working very well for over 9 months! No issues, easy to use. App works well, too.I updated the WiFi in my house. I could no longer access the device with the app. There was no way to connect a new WiFi connector to the device. Luckily the customer service is amazing!! They helped me troubleshoot the device. And when it still would not work, they shipped me a new one. Thank you!!

Product failure
Purchased just about a year ago and the unit does not work well at all. After being off all summer and fall I turned the unit back on in mid November. Temperature once set will not come up to the setting. I just feel I should get more than four months of service from this device. Customer service is impossible would not purchase again.

Very good, but watch out
I bought this floor-heat thermostat to replace my 12-year-old Nuheat.FWIW, the Nuheat gave up the ghost with the unhelpful error code for “End of Life.” Planned obsolescence? Perhaps. All the other thermostats in my house (3 of them), are older — but I do expect them to last indefinitely, until something actually breaks!Anyway, the good news is that the new thermostat is electrically a “drop in” for the Nuheat. I connected it up (really easy: transfer six wires from old to new), and when I turned the circuit breaker back on it started working, and everything tested ok. Note that it looks different from the old unit, but definitely more modern and nice looking. Also, it is much easier to read, especially without glasses when stepping out of the shower.It is also much less expensive than getting a replacement made by Nuheat — about 1/4 the price! Not only that, but it has more features than the old unit, such as Internet / WiFi connectivity (but more on that below).So, if it’s so great, then why did I rate it 3 stars? I have two major issues, and one small one:First, the small issue: It has no clock. The Nuheat had a clock that was handy to have in the bathroom; even though it was a bit small and hard to read for my old eyes. But I’ll miss knowing how late I am when I finish my shower.Now, the First Major Issue: The unit does not quite fit into a standard metal electrical box. It’s about 1/8- to 1/4-inch too wide! The only way I could make it fit was to grind and file out the box opening with my Dremel tool. It took about an hour, but eventually I mounted it in the same box that the old thermostat used to be in. If you are not handy with tools, you might want to check the dimensions of the electrical box you have. If it’s a plastic electrical box, it might not have the same problem, but if it’s metal, beware.Second Major Issue: Read the User Agreement and Privacy Statement! The User Agreement has a whole section saying you must agree to support the (presumably Chinese) Constitution and laws. I don’t know if that section has any legal effect here in the USA, but it certainly bothers me! Furthermore, the Privacy Statement, by my reading, says that if you put the unit onto your home WiFi, they have the right to monitor your network traffic and send information, explicitly including passwords and private information, to China. Personally, it bothers me enough that I am leaving the unit in “manual” mode, and not connecting it to WiFi. I have to admit that the WiFi enabled features are attractive and may even be useful, but not enough to get me to use them. Fortunately, it’s simple to run the unit from its front panel, and never give it your WiFi credentials. If you don’t enable WiFi, there will be a few optional features you won’t be able to use, such as timed setbacks, Alexa/Google integration, and calibration of the floor and ambient air temperature sensors. It works great without these features!
