Building on KRK’s legacy of sonic accuracy and performance, the new KRK CLASSIC 8 powered studio monitors incorporate over 30 years of innovation from the world’s leading studio monitor manufacturer. Borrowing concepts from previous ROKIT lines—some of the most used studio monitors in the world, the CLASSIC 8 defaults to a new flat frequency solution towards more critical listening—translating into more accurate mixes. With the optional ability to engage the +2 dB KRK Bass Boost, the CLASSIC 8 can also provide the enhanced bass response and sound that music creators around the world have loved for years. The CLASSIC 8 is an active (self-powered) two-way studio monitor that utilizes a 1″ textile soft dome tweeter paired with a 8″ glass aramid woofer. The built-in power amplifiers provide a total of 100 watts of power, with a 75 watt amp driving the woofer, and a 25 watt amp for the tweeter.
100 watt, 8″ active studio monitor / Self-powered. Amps matched to drivers; no external amp hassles
Custom bi-amped, class A/B amplifiers / Provide high headroom and low distortion
Heavy-duty enclosure / Durable
Front-firing port / Allows placement flexibility (i.e. near walls) without interference from a rear-firing port
Dedicated low and high frequency level adjustment controls / Allows you to optimize the monitor’s response to better match the room acoustics and the user’s personal preferences

Value is unparralled, range isn’t.
Dont get me wrong, I’m by no means experienced in the world of studio monitors, but I hope this review acts as the “laymans take” on these monitors. Coming from a 5″ set of very flat and honest Event Tr5’s, these are noticably lacking mid and high end presence. However, the difference is marginal and could be completely disregarded depending on how you like to mix your music. Furthermore, the sound that these speakers deliver is awesome. They get very loud, almost too loud for a small room, but not at the cost of any distortion. I’d say the most promenant feature is the bass, or “low frequency range” according to the nerds. Its punchy, humongous, clear, and exciting. These speakers have a noticably bass-heavy sound to them. The combonation of KRKs front-ported design and the larger woofer makes for a clean and smooth low-end that punches and rattles through the listeners chest (and desk!) If you are an audiophile, these may not be your favorite monitors. If you are a producer of hip hop, trap, dnb, etc. these may be your favorite monitors. The KRK classic 7s are the budget hero of the studio monitor world.

Best speakers under $300.
Best speakers (I got the 7″ pair) for FLAC music playback you can possibly get for under $300 (for 2 pair) imo. I prefer them over the Yamaha and JBL active speakers of the same price as my friends have both. Crystal clear, no humming or hissing or any of that while music is on or off. Can’t really go wrong here. XLR inputs are great too cause the speakers are 20 feet away from me so no losing any audio quality through RCA cables. I don’t produce music, just listen to it. Using a raspberry pi volumio setup coax plugged into a Topping Dx7 pro DAC/headphone amp/pre-amp to run these speakers. The Dx7 pro has XLR output so I use that. Buy these but make sure you’re not plugging them into old crappy power strips or they will hiss. Just use a decent modern power strip plugged directly into the wall and you’ll have no hiss. I suggest speaker stands over setting on foam, even if they’re $40 stands like I got.. work great. If too much just grab a thing of acoustic foam to put under these. This review based on 46 year old ears fyi.

Great for the price
I’ve used them for a couple of months now. They are large and give a nice base. Sound seems natural. For the price, 5 stars. Do I think they are the best speakers I have or sounds best I ever heard? NO. I did not find anything close to what I like in this price and I think they are fantastic overall.

Beautiful sound. Quiet and noise-free when hooked up with balanced lines
I upgraded from some simpler computer speakers. I first connected them using an unbalanced signal from my motherboard’s audio out, but this is not the way to go. There’s a lot of electrical noise that winds up being audible if you hook them up with unbalanced connections. Connecting the speakers via a Focusrite Scarlett USB interface resulted in marvelous, clear, beautiful sound. Highly recommended for a setup with a proper interface like the Scarlett.

Good Value for a dorm room, or small home theater, or professional near fields
I am using the KRK classic 8 as a single powered monitor for a rack-mounted guitar amp emulator, so I did not need the highest quality speaker, just something that can push some air, and get very loud, which this does, The enclosure on this is huge for an 8″ speaker, and there is plenty of heft in the bass, albeit a tad boomy. I would read other reviews if you want a better impression of how they sound for 2 channel music, but I must commend the seller for getting me a great deal on an open box and delivering on time. I would have given it 5 stars but the power cable was missing from the packaging. Otherwise, I got the original box, and foam inserts, so that was a plus, and got this $30 cheaper than a new model. It was listed as used in good condition, but I would consider it “like-new”, cosmetically perfect, just missing the power cable which is your standard PC power cable, so no big deal.

Classic 7 Powered Two-Way
These are at such a good price I could not believe it at first! I had another company like Jubilees or something and they are still ok but not as clean and crisp as these bad boys aka B-boys. Bass go boom boom way more and again at a better price. Now I know why almost every flipping person had the black n yellow banger speakers, they really are super nice!

Rapport qualité prix incroyable!Le son est incroyable et que dire du look krk,la seule chose que j’aurais aimé est un bouton on/off sur le devant sinon j’adore ces enceintes.

This is the second pair of KRK monitors I’ve purchased, and they’re excellent! The definition is superb and bass is round and controlled. With the Classic 7 model, I probably won’t need to add a Sub!

After the product arriver, i noticed from the start that you could still see glue on the woofer. Apart from that, after setting them and starting to test them, i realized that they sounded like there was a permanent low pass filter on, and after considerate research, i found out that the tweeter was simply blown. Therefore, i would strongly suggest to avoid buying these here and rather spend some more money for some new speakers which will surely arrive without any manufacturing defect.
