Great product
Well worth the $50. Integrates with home assistant and frigate. Easy to install and image quality is great. I personally use tailscale and everything works fine. The door trim was my issue. It wouldn’t sit flush. I snipped the wedge and everything fit. It’s wired so no battery life. Easy setup and wifi is not dropped. My wife loves it for Security of our daughter.

Great Camera and Great App
Great price and the app is better than others. I have other cameras that I am getting ready to replace because the app is so full of ads that make them almost unusable if you don’t pay a monthly fee. The Kasa app is fully functional without a monthly fee. Good image, easy to install, easy to set up. Would buy again.

Easy to install and works great
I was looking around for a doorbell camera that was wired and does not have a subscription option. After having a battery doorbell cam, I quickly learned that during the winters the battery life was a lot shorter and found myself constantly charging. I went with Kasa because I have bought a number of their products and found that they are all amazing. Easy to install and of all the products, I think I have only had 1 fail me out of 20. Which says a lot.Let start with the installation. The instructions were very straight forward. The only challenge I ran into was more to do with the placement of the old door bell. With my house, the old doorbell was lower, so I had to think about how I can extend the wire without having exposed wire. The need for extending the wire was mainly to ensure that the person’s face would be seen when they ring the bell. This was probably the most time consuming part of the install. Aside from this step, this was the easiest home project.Camera quality: I place a 128gb card in the back of the camera. One fault with the camera is that it can be difficult to take off the camera once it is snapped on. I was concerned with breaking the contacts. I would recommend a good size card to be safe. For the camera quality, overall it is ok. Not the best that I have seen but from the price point it isn’t bad at all. I wish that the lens would be a wider lens to capture a broad area rather than such a narrow lens.App: The app is super easy to use, I am a huge fan of how it seamlessly connects with Alexa and my Apple Watch. Overall, the app is user friendly. I like that it seamlessly connects with amazon. This makes it easier to know when someone is at the door because I receive a chime on my watch and through the echo.

This is what I think.
This Kasa camera is the 3rd or 4th camera I have given a try. I had tried both battery operated and hard wired. The idea of having to replace or charge the batteries every few months turned me away from the battery operated cameras.I have an older Condo and had to purchase a new transformer in order to power this Kasa. I almost didn’t try it because the doorbell transformer is tucked up inside a small laundry closet and was heck to get access to… and even then I had to do most of the work with my left hand. Anyway, this old dude managed somehow. When I went to hook up the camera the instructions told me to look for a blinking orange light to confirm I was getting power. Well, all I could see was a white circle light and it was not blinking. I contacted customer service and they walked me through the process a couple of times and I still only saw the white circle light. The CS rep finally said something to the effect of… “You are looking at the small LED light at the top, right?” Well… with my old eyeballs I had never even seen or noticed that itty bitty thing. Once the light was confirmed blinking I was up and running. When I removed my doorbell cover there was a large hole in the wall behind it that was larger than the base of the camera body. I went to Michael’s and bought a $2 oval wood piece and painted it. I had to drill holes for the screws and the wires but that part was easy.It has been about a month since installation and I have to give this camera 5 STARS. I’m sure it is not the best one out there… but for $45 it does remarkably well. It makes no sense to me at all to pay for remote storage of ‘MY’ video. For starters, I think just by having the camera light up when someone approaches is a pretty good deterrent to someone with ulterior motives.I get a notice within 3 seconds if I am on WiFi and maybe 10 or 12 seconds when I am away. This gives plenty of time to speak to someone through the unit… or to use one of the handful of recorded messages. When large trucks or vans go by I usually get a false alert… but I don’t find it to be much of a nuisance as I don’t live on a major street. The software does allow you to outline the ‘active’ areas but I have not found that it makes much of a difference. If desired, you have the option to pay a small monthly fee for storage (much less than some others) but you also have the option to insert a Micro SD card, which is what I did. As I understand it, the old video gets replaced to make room for the more recent video. Someone was complaining of this in their review but I find it to be brilliant. If there is a ‘serious’ event that takes place I can always remove the SD card and copy that file to my computer. But… at least i don’t have to remove the SD card every month or so to clear it out for the new data.I haven’t had a chance to check out the night visions as our HOA turns all of the porch lights on automatically with a light sensor… but in my case, even with the porch light glaring in, the view is very acceptable.I actually think that this company could give ‘R#*G’ a run for their money. The quality is pretty great (especially at this price point), the subscription service is much lower… AND they allow you the option for local storage. Who would pay two or three times as much for the other brand… and then have to pay out a substantial amount of money over time in order to have access to your own video?!A bit of software upgrade and I’d give it 5 stars at twice this price… but as it is, I am not sure where I could have found a better value and still have my home ‘protected’.

I purchased the Kasa KD110 Video Doorbell spring of 2023. It was a great purchase. I live in Southern Ontario, so the weather ranges from summer hot to winter cold. This device has worked great throughout it all. I had to replace the old typical door bell in our house. I pulled it all out. Ran a new power supply and hooked it all up. The door bell and the chime paired up immediately. Setup door bell using the Kasa app, got it connected to my wifi and was watching everything in front of my house in minutes. Installed a micro sd card and can review everything the camera sees. The image is decent for both daytime and nighttime viewing. The motion detection works well as does the person detection. Have had no issues with connecting to the camera from where ever I may be. The two-way audio works well enough.Would be great if they would add the ability to view the camera from a web browser on my computer.

Love you can use this product without paying. Great camera quality and love how it rings your phone like a call. Definitely recommend.

This doorbell is great for the price. The fact that it comes with the chime for the price is great. Also, there was probably a software update on the kasa app as you can save videos without a cloud service. You do need an sd card to do so. Quality of picture is great. Angle could be a bit better vertically as it doesn’t see the floor below it. Only bug i found so far the connection between the chime and the doorbell can take long sometimes. People will ring the doorbell and it wont ring inside. Whenever they press a second time, it will definitely ring inside. Installation is pretty straightforward but make sure all the apps are up to date. I had the kasa app for smart plugs and it wasn’t up to date. Because of that, the doorbell wasn’t connecting to the app. Good for an affordable doorbell and camera system.
