works, hooked to mic, keyboard, WiiM Pro, Mac Mini = all work
Extremely great! I am using it with Mac mini and a Roland keyboard as well as a Shure mic. All connect and work flawlessly. Also have it plugged into a WiiM Pro that allows me to listen to wireless music from my iPhone & iPad through my studio speakers. This thing rocks! works flawlessly with Logic, Roland Keyboard both MIDI and sound from keyboard, mini computer. No complaints, only =)

Excellent for number of inputs given the price
Easy to set up and works as advertised and as low noise as anything else I’ve owned. Has a lot of nice features I didn’t know that I wanted: individual inputs and be isolated and recorded from, sound after being run through a DAW can be routed back and played from different headphone jacks. Software works well on MacOS 15.I would have preferred more hardware control options for controlling the inputs in the back

Reliable product
Focusrite control 2 is confusing compared to the first version. Trying to loop back audio for OBS to stream internal sound still required an audio driver. The main reason I bought this product. Still a good upgrade from 2nd gen

Better than the Apollo?
I love this freaking thing dude, has overall given many more paths to explore creatively just by simply having more inputs and outs, instantly noticed a difference in productivity, the upgraded appearance is a plus as well, coming from a gen 3 2i2, I was looking for something to improve functionality and allow me to expand my studio, this has done just that, I would recommend this over an Apollo any day, UAD software can be buggy when dealing with multiple systems, focusrite control is very intuitive and easy to use across the board, not to mention artists vocals sound crisp and clear, smooth harmonic drivers sound beautiful when mixed and gain staged correctly. Overall I’d say this product is worth every single penny and more

Extraordinary Gear!
I am very impressed with this unit. I have only had it for a week or so, but so far I can say it’s exactly what I’ve been needing to get back into recording. I was an original user of the Aardvark audio interface that was way ahead of it’s time 20 years ago, and I never fully recovered from it being put out of support. Finding this unit and all it’s features and easy connection to something like an iPhone is incredible. Eventually I will get a Mac to use with it, but this thing is awesome.

Can’t factory reset. Update fails. Becomes unusable
It was disappointing to try to connect and use this unit. The software update failed and the interface never worked. I had to return it as it was unusable. I contacted the manufacturer and they said you cannot reset the unit using the hardware alone. So if your update fails you are done. It’s crazy you can’t factory reset it.

Flexible, but number of inputs is misleading
Great sound quality. Excellent for a one person studio because it can be controlled remotely using a phone or ipad app. Doesn’t really have 18 inputs unless you use the optical input with an expansion amp. If you’re recording drums, plan on buying a second interface.

Everything I need at a fair price
Focusrite keeps upping the quality and capabilities of their interfaces and the 16i16 is a great example of their commitment to small setups. I have yet to delve into the software but so far as some basic vocals it’s not needed. The dual air modes sound as expected, the mic interfaces are nice and clean, and the bump to 24/192 makes the cost worth it. Then throw in the ability to do routing (up to 96kHz) amongst the extra line ins/outs, optical, and ADAT connections. Perfect for a small studio. The only thing I’m missing from this, that some of the larger have, is the speaker “thump” protection since I have multiple Mac’s and sometimes need to switch my peripherals between them. I do appreciate the ability to provide continuous separate power from the usb.
