I LOVE it
This works so good, and is great for Christmas lights so you don’t have to go and turn everything off every morning. There’s a couple different scheduling options in the app I have mine set to turn on and off at certain times and it works just fine and follows the schedule even if I am not at home connected to my Wi-Fi. I have not tested if the power button would work away from home, but I know the scheduling feature does.Seems like it is durable outdoor material too. It did however take me a quite a bit to figure out how to connect it to my phone/app, to be honest I am not sure how I ended up figuring it out, it either was the Wi-Fi or that you have to have your location on. The app that this is compatible with Smart life, is really nice! I ended up buying two indoor plugs that are also completable with the same app. Those installed instantly onto the app. This is defiantly worth the money.

App functionality is ok, plug works well outdoors
It was easy to set up but if you’re running it though Alexa it’s hard to determine which one is which, it showed up as 6 different plugs instead of 2 so I had to play around with it for a bit. I’m using it to run my outdoor lights and it’s working well. You can schedule it in the app or connect it to your Alexa or other devices.

As many of the other reviews noted, these are easy to set up once you are aware of a few things which are noted below. I purchased both the small round indoor outlets and the larger outdoor outlets, so these hints apply to both items. The steps outlined in the instructions are actually pretty good but awareness of these hints will make it go much faster for you. 1- I configured my devices one at a time at the same outlet using the Smart Life app on my phone via the BLE mode. The first device is the most time consuming as you need to create a Smart Life account, identify your WIFI and put in your WIFI password. Once that is done, you don’t need to do it again for subsequent devices, so it goes pretty fast after that. 2- As noted in the instructions, just plugging the device into an outlet will put the device into its pairing mode and it will appear in the app as “Smart plug x” where x = the number of devices added to the app. I did have one device that didn’t appear after plugging it in, so pressing and holding the button on the device for 5 seconds put it into the pairing mode and it connected successfully. 3- As each device is detected, you should edit the name of the device from “Smart plug x” to a meaningful description e.g “Smart plug kitchen”. I also wrote the description on the device with a sharpie as several of the devices will be used with Christmas lights and will be stored away in the off season. 4- I just wanted mine to power on and off as specific times. To do this, tap on “timer” for the device in the app and then tap on “add schedule”. The thing to remember is that each schedule added only does one function (on or off), so if you want it to power on at a specific time, that’s one schedule and if you want it to power off at a specific time, that’s another schedule. The schedules just pile up in the order that you add them for the device and execute based on the time and the function (on or off) that you choose. Note that the indoor and outdoor devices behave a little differently from each other in the app because the outdoor devices have 2 individually configurable outlets, so it is a little more complicated but pretty obvious. You can also manually power the devices on and off via the app even with schedules in place.

working as designed, i dislike that there are so many brands that all have their own bloody app, and that every time i get a new device it is a new app because no one company is making every device i need, but thankfully they are all programable through Home network. i use these to control Halloween and Christmas decor outside, and via google home run a program to turn on 30 min before sundown and turn off at 10:30pm to save power. working well, run two of these and one of another company that i got 2 years back… would buy more if i had need of them. only grip is plug in style, with weather protected covers you cannot use two on one set of receptacles, but oh well… i installed a crap ton of outdoor outlets so… 🙂
