    Brown keys work for me!
I have been looking at mechanical keyboards for a long time. Even tried a few at Best Buy to see how they feel. Was never impressed. However the reviews of Cherry Brown switches made me think I might like this keyboard & I do! They are clicky, but not too loud with a very positive feel to them. I have been touch typing for 60 years, so I’ve used a lot of keyboards. IBM Selectrics were good, the IBM proportional space typewriter was good, and of course, the IBM Model M was the keyboard standard for a long time. When my Model M gave out I had various keyboards from the likes of HP, Dell and others, but none were very good. I absolutely detest laptop keyboards, but they come with the territory. A few years ago, I happened upon the Perixx model 106 keyboard that is a full size one like this, but with good, but ordinary keys. I could type well on it so I kept it while I kept looking at mechanicals. This week I bit the bullet and bought this keyboard with Brown keys. It is a wonderful keyboard. I highly recommend it. My usage is programming, and it works well for that purpose. My complaints echo some of the others with a few of my own. Putting the numbers above the shifted characters is silly. The keyboard, while rugged, could be a little larger especially below the space bar and above the function keys. Below the space bar to provide some support and above the function keys to allow labels for their application functions. Re the wrist support, I ordered the optional wrist rest which is on sale this week. Of course the keyboard dropped $18 or so this week as well, but I’m not gonna run to Kohls to try to claw that back. My last complaint is the key highlighting. I had wanted to program the keys dynamically from the application I developed, but that is not possible so that is a minor disappointment. The default colors are flashy (shall I say trashy), but I was able to get a low-level white background programmed using the Cherry software. Non of these complaints comes close to justify lowering the rating below 5 stars. At $76, this is a very good buy. I would recommend you get it. It’s returnable. Take the chance.

    Perfect keyboard for mixed use
Compact, cute, sturdy, and reliable. I game and attend college and this had been holding up really well. I love the touch and audio feedback from the keys as I’m typing, and the backlighting makes every key visible, even in low light conditions. This keyboard is heavier than what I’ve owned before, but I have come to appreciate the stability that comes with that. The keys have a good feel and it was worth spending a little more for the quality. I do use a gel wrist rest with it due to hypermobility, but this is the most comfortable keyboard I’ve ever used as far as key spacing goes.

Great build and the MX2A Brown keys are my new favorite!
After several years of using Logitech G810 and G910 keyboards, I promised myself I would never (knowingly) use a keyboard with Romer-G keys. They start out fine and I have to admit the lighting on those simply can’t be beat…but, the longevity of the key switches is dismal. So I tried the Alienware 510K, a very nice keyboard if you are into super sensitive key switch response – I am not. There was also an issue with the side-to-side and front-to-back “slop” in the keys. You could easily wiggle the keys around at least a mm or two, which was very annoying. To be fair, my son and wife love theirs. My recent purchase of the Cherry XTRFY MX 3.1 was an instant success! I purchased the black casing with the MX2A Brown Cherry switches and it’s been smooth sailing. The keys have an over all consistent feel to them, no surprises, no issues resting my fingertips on the keys. The touch and feel of the keyboard get an easy 5/5.The software also rates among the best with a 4.5. There was a little learning curve, but it worked out in the end. It is also very responsive to profile changes giving a nearly instant update as you change apps (this requires some user input). The keyboard illumination brightness is not quite as good as the Logitech Romer-G switches, but a near second. And, on that note, I found one of two only negative issues with this keyboard. There should have been some sort of clear line for the spacebar, there is only a glow from underneath, which is not a deal breaker, just a curious omission. The build quality seems excellent and solid. But, in this day and age, it seems odd to have no wrist relief of any kind. But, I knew that before purchasing, so not an issue – issue, just a comment. The keyboard is a seems to be a bit smaller than the G910, freeing up my desk space that small amount.Logitech G910 – 8.3″ x 19.9″Alienware 510k – 6.1″ x 18.4″Cherry XTRFY – 5.34″ x 17.13″There is no sense of this being a sub standard keyboard size, they just shuffled the key around a bit to reduce unused space. There is also a set of useful Fn keys associated with the standard F1 – F12 keys, very akin to laptops volume, key brightness, etc…I do recommend this product as purchased for reasons I have hopefully made clear. 🙂

The Keys Make a Nice Clickety Clack!
Excellent keyboard. I did not download the software as I don’t want to change the color display. The keys are very responsive. Nice weight to the keyboard. It does not move around. I recommend this product.

    Best mechanical keyboard I’ve owned
Granted, I haven’t owned that many, but this one seems to have way fewer unintended keys being registered and has a better feel that most. It’s not super clicky with a definitely pop when triggered, but has a nice satisfying soft click on each keystroke. I do wish it had was a function lock, so that I could have the media keys always active, since they are on the function keys and I don’t use the function keys often. Also, the keypad and arrow keys are a little cramped. Not sure why they couldn’t have added a couple of mm between the sections.Otherwise, I definitely recommend it.
