A mini PC from a company that seems to actually want more customers
What a pleasant surprise! First the packaging is reminiscent of iPhone packaging. The box is heavy stock with a gloss black finish. Individual boxes and partitions inside protect and segregate the multiple components. Included are 6-inch and 2-foot HDMI cables which are neatly coiled, tied, and bagged. A nice extra is a small bracket that allows to mount the PC to the VESA mounting holes on the back of a TV. Perhaps most amazing is a brief owner manual in multiple languages … with English that is legible and grammatically correct. But let’s not forget the actual product. It also impresses with a flawless finish and solid construction. There is a surprising amount of metal here, from the perforated grille for cooling air to the base-plate of the motherboard. The screws holding the base-plate to the main body are machine threads mating with metal inserts. Nice. No cheap wood screws into blind holes in too small plastic bosses! The power button is illuminated white when the PC is booted up; it is easily visible but not blindingly bright (nor blue) like too many other products. Finally, the performance of the PC is good too. Running Linux Mint and playing video on this SER3 model with Ryzen 7 is no problem. (Yes, all the peripherals were recognized and operate flawlessly.) Testing video playback on Youtube at 1080p and 4K was smooth and clean. The cooling fan runs often but is surprisingly quiet. It is barely audible at 3 feet away and not audible from across the room. For everyone concerned with reducing their greenhouse gas emissions, here are some power consumption numbers measured at the wall plug with a “Kill A Watt” brand power meter.Off 0.6WSuspend 0.7WIdle desktop 7.8W1080p Youtube full-screen low motion video 15.1W1080p Youtube full-screen action video 18.5W4K Youtube full-screen low motion video 28.4W4K Youtube full-screen action video 34.3W

Previous issue has been RESOLVED
UPDATE Sept 21, 2020:After going through two units with the same WiFi/BT issues, I ended up returning and choosing a different PC.After this, I was contacted by Beelink’s R&D department, and I was informed that I had discovered a defect. They then sent me a new unit. The previous wireless issues on this unit seem to be resolved, so I have no reason not to recommend this PC.It is small (which is good for my purposes) and is pretty snappy for it’s size.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Bluetooth and 2.4ghz WiFi only have about 2-3 feet of usable range before devices lose signal.I received a replacement unit. It had the exact same bluetooth problem. Bluetooth devices are able to be seen and paired if they are a few inches away, but immediately drop and disconnect if more than 2 feet away. After experimenting with the system, I discovered that It seems this system’s own internal hard drive causes interference on 2.4ghz. If I disconnect the internal hard drive and only use the SSD, WiFI and Bluetooth work normally and are usable anywhere in the room.If you look inside the case, the Intel AX200 and the 2.5 SATA connector are nearly right on top of each other. I’m not sure if this is a design flaw or a QC issue, but it seems no one tested these before shipping them out.

Great little computer so far…!
I actually quite like this thing. I immediately upgraded memory to 32GB and added a 2TB drive in the extra slot. The upgrades were very easy and quick. The system has two memory slots but came only using one, so I pulled the old chip out and popped in two 16GB chips. The slots are stacked so you may have to pull the existing chip out to find the second slot. The extra drive bay is in the lid and besides having a little trouble seating the drive (my fault for not pushing hard enough), it went perfectly well.I’m using it as a media server and it’s running and performing very well, light years better than the system I replaced. As it sits, I feel it’s capable of being a fine development or gaming box and would love to get another one. Wasn’t sure what to expect when I ordered it, but it blows the pants off the Mac Minis we have around the house and costs much less.

Not Quite Worth The Money
TLDR: Not quite worth the money spent on it for the purpose of gaming, due to various cons and issues experienced. Seems more suited for office/menial task work.Pro:1) Very small/compact, can fit anywhere you have roughly 6x6x3 inches of space for the unit and cables/dongle connections.2) Series 6 Max has a metal shell.3) Easy to put together, the memory and hard drive snapped in quite easily, no tools really necessary.4) Quiet, very quiet, my monitor makes more noise than this does.5( Runs VR, but not for long.6) Can be easily attached to back of monitor to keep out of the way or for cable management.Con:1) Windows 11 Student Edition installed.2) Wouldn’t let me create a local account2A) Wouldn’t let me sign in when using my Microsoft email, gave me an “invalid email” error, as it wasn’t a .edu address.. 2B) Had to do a command line bypass to create a local account and then sign in with my Microsoft account afterwards.3) For the hardware specs it has, which are impressive for a budget build, it is so Very, Very slow.4) Could never handle any sort of intense gaming session, that lasted more than 60-90 minutes5) VR gaming is possible, but basically non-existent.5A) Overheats and too many Artifact / graphic errors is most common after exactly 60 minutes of play5B) Games tested:.Half Life: Alyx – Steam version | VR Chat – Steam Version | Alice VR – GOG Galaxy Version |Ultrakill (VR Modded) – Steam VersionMy biggest complaint with it right now, is that in the 18 months I’ve owned it, the hard drive has crashed on me twice while sitting idle, reporting there is no system files available, or that the hard drive is also corrupted. Right now, it’s not even showing as an option in the Boot Menu from BIOS. Which is a major pain, as it contains the only copy of some personal files, and I don’t have the money to get a professional recovery done on it.

I recently purchased the Beelink SER6 Mini Desktop PC with the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX, 32GB DDR5 RAM, and 500GB SSD, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance and compact design. Here’s a breakdown of my experience:Performance: The AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor is an absolute powerhouse, offering impressive multi-tasking and smooth performance even under heavy workloads. Whether you’re working on demanding applications, gaming, or video editing, this PC can handle it all with ease. I’ve noticed a significant improvement in speed and efficiency compared to my old desktop.Design and Size: The mini desktop form factor is a huge plus! It’s small and sleek, making it perfect for tight spaces or if you need a portable setup. Despite its compact size, it doesn’t compromise on performance, which is a major plus for anyone needing a space-efficient solution.Memory and Storage: The 32GB DDR5 RAM is perfect for power users who need to run multiple apps or virtual machines without experiencing lag. The 500GB SSD offers fast boot times and quick load speeds, ensuring your apps and files are always ready when you need them. I appreciate how fast everything operates, especially when handling large files.Connectivity: The SER6 comes equipped with a range of connectivity options, including USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, DisplayPort, and Wi-Fi 6, providing a stable internet connection and quick file transfers. It’s easy to connect to external displays and accessories.Noise and Cooling: Despite the high performance, the fan noise is very minimal. The cooling system is efficient, keeping the temperature in check even under heavy use, which is something I really appreciate when working in a quiet environment.Value for Money: For the price, you’re getting a top-tier processor, ample memory, and fast storage in a mini desktop. Considering the build quality and performance, this product is an excellent value for anyone looking for a high-performance machine in a compact form factor. Conclusion: I highly recommend the Beelink SER6 Mini Desktop PC for anyone looking for a powerful yet compact desktop solution. Whether for work, gaming, or general use, this PC offers incredible performance, reliability, and value for money.

I replaced Windows with Ubuntu 20.04, had some driver issues related to reliability of bluetooth and excessive fan noise. I removed Ubuntu and replaced with Fedora 33. Bluetooth works better although it could be more responsive after sleeping. Fan is much quieter although sometimes it starts up and can be VERY LOUD, often with heavy disk drive activity. The bluetooth response time and fan noise are the only negative aspects of the computer in my opinion. Upgrading components is very easy, I added RAM and replaced the internal drives. I really like the computer and recommend it. It feels like this is my computer and I can do whatever I want to it versus my mac where apple does everything they can to restrict and control what I can do on the computer I purchased. I hope a future version can address the fan noise and bluetooth responsiveness. I also contacted Beelink on a few things and they were very easy to deal with.

Since it was time to replace my old Win 7 tower, I did not want another big box. So I started looking into mini PCs. I bought the Beelink. It had good reviews. My model came with a metal case. Some other models have plastic cases. I only use it for browsing and home use. I am not a gamer. Windows 11 had no bloatware and trial ware installed. I did install Ubuntu on my drive and turn it into a dual boot system. The Ubuntu installed without any driver problems. This PC is very very fast. There is only a slight fan noise. It does make a brief louder fan noise for about 5 seconds when starting up or shutting down. It sounds like the fan coming on at full speed briefly. Gamer’s might hear a louder sound due to CPU demands. I would buy a Beelink PC again and highly recommend it. Well made, well packaged. Customer support responds quickly.

This little mini PC is such a beast. It works great and takes up very little space. Lots oc USB post , a Type C connection and 3 different monitor connections. Little pricey but definitely worth it. Get rid of the 1 Tb Hdd as it is not an SSD and replace it with a proper SSD. Very easy to do and it works perfectly. Great little rig.
