Lookks nice, functionality is, hmm…
Mostly I use my watch to see the time, but I also like to have it display text and other kinds of messages that go to my phone, let me know who’s calling, and use it for alarms and timers. I need it to be waterproof to 10′ or more so that I can swim with it on. I barely use it for its fitness and health capabilities. Since I use it mostly for telling time, I like a simple watch face that’s easy to read quickly and also displays the date and day of the week. It needs to display the time quickly when I flip my wrist over to look at it. And I need to be able to read it when I’m wearing polarized sunglasses.This watch fails the first test – can I see the display when wearing polarized sunglasses? I can; so far, so good. Also, the display comes on quickly when I flip my wrist over to see it.My biggest concern is the app you need to install on your phone. It’s not available in Google Play Store, so you need to download it from who knows where. There’s no telling if it has malware embedded in it or not.The way everything works is pretty slick, and the display is clear and bright. However, there are some issues. The first is that it doesn’t display all text messages, only the simplest SMS message. It will display about 175 characters before the message gets cut off, so that’s pretty good. Better than most similar watches. But for other messages, it doesn’t even notify you that one has arrived. The whole point is that I don’t want to have my phone beside me every second, but this watch doesn’t allow me to do that.There are some other issues that are aggravating. For example, it looks like you can store 5 faces on the watch, but you can’t remove 3 of them, so really you can only upload 2. If you like to have different faces for different things, you need to keep uploading them from your phone.What I really like is that this phone is waterproof to 5 ATMs, or over 150′. I’ll never go that deep, but can snorkel down to about 15′, a depth that most other watches probably won’t stand.I’m going to strip all the permissions from the app but keep it connected by Bluetooth so it has the right time, but won’t be able to read my contacts or copy my files.

Very Good Apple Watch Supplement/Substitute
The caveat regarding this review is I rate my technical skills as the higher level of medium. It is possible that my reasons for not giving the watch 5 stars are attributable to my inability to figure out each function. The flip side of this is that the watch potentially is not as user friendly as it could be.Aptly taking a chronological approach to this review, the watch passes my first two tests of arriving well packaged and coming with clear relatively comprehensive instructions. It further is stylish and has a comfortable band and that should accommodate every wrist. This is from a guy whose wristbands often are a little loose.Another note about the instructions and the band is that the documentation advises that keeping the band loose may preclude measuring your heartbeat.The watch coming fully charged awesomely allows playing with this new toy fresh out of the box. Requiring rather pinpoint accuracy to charge it with the included cable is a downside. The slightest movement breaks the connection.Another early glitch is that my phone could not scan the QR code on the watch; scanning these codes is well within my technical expertise. As the instructions advise, downloading the app from the App Store is s very viable work around.Once the app was installed, pairing my watch was a breeze. Confusion regarding whether I needed to add my Apple ID information when setting up the watch was a little irksome. I figured out that this was not necessary. Pairing the watch with my phone was the critical element.The setup was easy from there.My notification of a telephone call and ability to use the watch as a wrist telephone was far superior to those functions on my Apple Watch. I miss most calls on my Apple Watch, and people usually cannot hear me when I try to use my Apple Watch as a telephone.A VERY cool feature is that AGM find my phone tool calls your cell phone.One negative aspect of my AGM watch is that I cannot see any way to receive text notifications.Further, turning off the AGM watch seems to require taking it off and keeping in very still while trying to power it down.My primary reason for requesting the AGM watch is that it is advertised to have a minimum of a 15-day life on one battery charge. In comparison, my Apple Watch seems to lose more than 50-percent of its charge over the course of roughly 12 hours of use. Especially when traveling, I can get a little stressed having to think that I will need to let it charge for 90 minutes in the morning.Assuming that I get several days of use from one charge of the AGM watch, I plan to use it on future trips. The cost being a fraction of the price of an Apple Watch greatly reduces stress regarding losing it. I will use it under all circumstances that involve the risk of losing the watch or someone walking away with it.I have not tested the watch in an exercise setting but have tried the heart-rate monitor function, which seems to work well.The price point and very good functionality make the AGM watch an excellent starter option for an adolescent who may not be responsible enough yet for an Apple Watch. A specific bargain may be to promise an upgrade if the AGM watch is kept pristine for a year.This is from a guy who ran over his Swatch with his car when he was 18.A note to teens reading this is that the promise of the Apple Watch that all the cool kids have is that using your birthday, yardwork, or baby sitting money to secretly replace an AGM watch that you break or lose is an excellent investment.
