brew tea on the go
I saw another review said the Rage Against Microplastics container came with a tea strainer. That’s the reason I got it and indeed it comes with one. The holes are a bit large, a common problem with tea strainers. So you have to use a tea with larger leaves, none of this powder stuff. Even still, some leaves will get through. It’s better than using a teaball, where leaves still get through, but you also lose heat out the top of the teacup. It’s pretty good about retaining warmth. With hot water inside it does not feel warm on the outside. It seems to drop about one degree Celsius per hour. The thermometer in the cap is not great. I had to hold the bottle upside down to get the temperature of the liquid inside. Even then it is off between 7 and 10 degrees Celsius (13 to 18 degrees Fahrenheit ) depending on the temperature of the liquid inside. The hotter it is the less accurate it is.The bottle is kind of narrow. If you put anything sticky in it, it would require a bottle brush to clean out the bottom. I just planned to put tea and water in it, so that won’t be a big issue for me.Not relevant to its function, but when you tap the side of the container, the vibration has a pleasant tone and feel.

Not the best option
This water bottle is not great. It’s pretty thin and fits nicely in my backpack side pocket, but the lid is difficult to screw on and I can’t seem to get it to screw on straight without being wonky. It doesn’t seem to leak with the lid like that, but it also just pops open if I try to screw it on tighter, so I definitely don’t trust it to use for traveling. There is also a strainer basket on the top, so I’m assuming that’s for tea. It seems like the loose tea leaves would get all stuck in the lid threads and rubber gasket grooves so it feels like it would be a bit messy to deal with. The display is in Celsius and there was no instruction manual or info on the box to indicate how to change the display to Fahrenheit like shown in the listing photos, so I’m not sure if that’s possible. I could live with that if it were my only complaint. It also doesn’t always turn on when tapped and so I have to slam my hand down on it fairly hard to get it to work. Also, the paint seems to have been scratched off at the edge of the water bottle — not sure if that’s part of the manufacturing process or if this particular bottle had been used and returned.

Very nice
Very nice reusable water bottle. This is ready to go right out of the box, just wash and go! Clear display for the temperature and it seems to be an accurate reading within a few mins. Slim design is very easy to use and take on the go. Very nice sleek design and it does have a small metal removable strainer in the top I’m assuming to keep ice or possibly infusing fruit. A few things to note … There are no buttons on this, you just swipe your finger over the lid and the temperature shows. Now with that being said, you really have no way of telling how long this battery will last as it’s not rechargeable and there are no instructions in the box. Also with there being no buttons, this is in Celsius and there’s no way to change it.

Great Slogan, But Just an “Okay” Bottle
My favorite thing about this water bottle is definitely the branding. “Rage Against Microplastics” is clever, catchy, and fits perfectly with my goal to reduce single-use plastics. As a functional water bottle, it does the job—it holds water, keeps my drink cold, and hasn’t leaked on me yet. However, the overall feel is just… mid. It feels a bit cheaply made compared to my other stainless steel bottles. The lid doesn’t screw on with that satisfying, secure “lock” feeling, which makes me nervous to toss it into my bag.The LED temperature display is a neat party trick, but I find it more decorative than functional. I generally know if my ice water is cold, so having a digital readout isn’t exactly a necessity. I’m also concerned about the longevity—the battery doesn’t seem to be replaceable, which feels a bit ironic for a product promoting sustainability. If you are buying it specifically for the message and the logo, it’s a fun conversation starter. But purely as a water bottle, it’s not the one I find myself reaching for in the morning over my higher-quality ones.

Drops around 10 degrees F per hour
This is a stainless steel vacuum mug. It is supposed to keep hot things hot and cool things cool allegedly for 12 hours. It also claims to have 500 days of battery life, though I’m not really sure what to do when the battery runs out. It is a decent size, the temperature reading seems to work well. There was no weird odor when I unscrewed the cap. I put steaming hot water in mine and within 7 minutes it gave me an initial read of 21° c Up to over 51° c. Because it is stainless steel it is not microwave safe. It also is not dishwasher safe. It does seem durable and I feel confident that it would survive a fall, but the outermost layer is smooth to the touch and easy to clean. It is a bit slippery. It came with a colander/strainer lid inside, so I think it could be good to use for loose leaf tea. With high temperatures the mug remains cool to the touch on the outside. It seems to be entirely leak proof. At the hottest reading, the temp said 57 degrees. It went down to 45 in 2 hours and 36 in 4. It will only show the temp in degrees Celsius.
